MORON AT LOFTUS ROAD
Daily Mail/Rob Draper - QPR facing FA charge after assistant referee is hit by object from the crowd
QPR face an FA charge and a fine after assistant referee Stuart Burt was struck twice by objects from the crowd during their 2-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
He came under fire in the 60th minute and at the end of the game. Referee Mike Dean approached him in the 90th minute as he was complaining about being stuck by a missile thrown from the Ellerslie Road Stand.

QPR Official Site - HUGHES: 'OUR BEST YET'
Posted on: Sat 31 Mar 2012
Mark Hughes described QPR's sensational victory against Arsenal at Loftus Road as his 'best yet' as R's Manager.
Hughes watched on from the dug-out as goals from Adel Taarabt (22) and Samba Diakite (66) clinched a 2-1 win, after Theo Walcott (37) had drawn Arsenal level late on in the first period.
A delighted Hughes told www.qpr.co.uk: "I was really proud of the players today.
"We worked hard all week on what we felt we needed to do against a side who in recent weeks have been the best in the Premier League.
"I felt if we could go into the game with confidence and belief we'd have a chance.
"I thought we were exceptional from start to finish.
"We scored two good goals at good times and man for man each and every one of them delivered for us.
"The discipline and resilience we showed to see the game out was very pleasing.
"We had a fantastic night here against Liverpool but this was even better. This was our best yet.
"The manner of our performance was superb."
Hughes also reserved special praise for the QPR supporters, who were in full voice throughout the 90 minutes.
He added: "The fans were absolutely magnificent.
"Once they sense a little bit of momentum, they drive us on and they did that throughout the game today.
"They were our twelfth man and spurred us on to a great victory." QPR
Dave McIntyre/West London Sport - Joy for QPR as Samba’s goal beats Arsenal
Samba Diakite’s first goal for QPR gave them a shock victory that massively boosted their survival chances.
The Mali international smashed in the winner midway though the second half after being teed up by Jamie Mackie.
It stunned in-form Arsenal, who had levelled through Theo Walcott after Adel Taarabt’s first Premier League goal put Rangers in front.
Taarabt delightfully turned away from Thomas Vermaelen before steering the ball beyond keeper Wojciech Szczesny and into the bottom corner.
Arsenal hit back eight minutes before half-time when Walcott netted from the rebound after his first effort had come back off the post.
But Rangers kept battling and were rewarded with Diakite’s potentially crucial goal in the battle to avoid relegation.
They took the game to Arsene Wenger’s side and looked dangerous early on, with Bobby Zamora heading over from Taarabt’s free-kick and having a shot saved by Szczesny.
After Taarabt’s opener was cancelled out by Walcott, Arsenal looked likely to control the second half.
They were denied the lead by a fine stop from keeper Paddy Kenny, who dived to his left to save from Robin van Persie after the Dutchman had been put through by Alex Song’s pass.
But Rangers went ahead again when Mackie capitalised on Vermaelen’s slip near the right-hand edge of the penalty area and pulled the ball back for Diakite, who smashed home from 15 yards.
Joey Barton, restored to the team after being left out last weekend, would have added a third for the R’s had his rasping shot not been tipped over by Szczesny.

Dave McIntyre/West London Sport - QPR skipper praised after impressive return
Hughes faces a big decision.
Boss Mark Hughes paid tribute to Joey Barton after the QPR midfielder returned to captain the side to their victory over Arsenal.
Dropped for last weekend’s defeat at Sunderland, Barton was restored to the starting line-up and was a key player in Rangers’ shock 2-1 win.
“I thought Joey was different class today,” Hughes declared.
“He got a lot of stick last time out because of his performance and he acknowledged it wasn’t good enough.
“Today the crowd willed him into a top-class performance and that’s what we got from him.
“He stood up and was man enough to say ‘This is who I am and this is what I’m about’.”
Samba Diakite’s winner – his first goal for the club – gave Rangers a potentially crucial three points in their battle to stay up.
It was a sweet moment for the Mali midfielder, who suffered the disappointment of being sent off on his R’s debut
Hughes added: “He (Diakite) is learning to understand the Premier League.
“He came in and was very green and didn’t understand how games here are refereed, but he does now.”

QPR boss boosts captain Barton
MARK Hughes hailed the return of his captain by describing Joey Barton as 'different class.'
The Hoops midfielder (pic) had been unceremoniously dropped last week for the defeat at Sunderland - but bounced back to more than playhis part in the superb 2-1 home win over Arsenal.
Barton may be shy of the media, but wastes no opportunity to use Twitter to get his point of view ou there. And before the game, made use of his captain's match programme notes to berate fans for having a go at him during the last home match against Liverpool.
The player pleaded with fans to back the side and 15,000 did - much to Hughes's approval.
The manager said: "Joey got a lot of stick last time, but with the crowd's encouragement they willed him back to a good performance.
"He fronted up and pulled on the shirt, and you can't ask for much more."
Adel Taarabt's opener was cancelled out by Theo Walcott, before Samba Diakite scored a debut dream winner to restore hopes Hoops will beat the drop.
Hughes said: "Adel found it too easy last year in the Championship, but he's had to be more disciplined in this league and that part of his game is much improved.
"Samba was pretty green when he arrived, and he's had to learn quickly, but he's matured and although we have had good performances in our last three home games - this was the best of all.
"We kept our shape, our discipline and had a real understanding of what we worked on all week to get a result."

Arsène Wenger accuses Arsenal of showing poor attitude against QPR
• 'We took the ball, didn't do a lot with it and made mistakes'
• Frenchman says defeat is wake-up call
Arsène Wenger is not known for giving his players a public dressing-down, but after watching his team let themselves down with a flat and error-strewn performance at Queens Park Rangers, he did not even feel the need to find any excuses. A seven-match winning sequence came to an abrupt end in 2-1 defeat at Loftus Road and Wenger accused his players of showing a poor attitude.
"Our performance was not good enough to win this kind of game. In the duels they [QPR] had a little bit of extra special commitment," the Arsenal manager said. "In the Premier League if you miss something on the commitment front you are beaten. That was the result. We can only congratulate QPR for their attitude and be unhappy with our own performance. It was very frustrating because they left us the ball and waited for our mistakes. We took the ball, didn't do a lot with it and made mistakes."
Asked if complacency had been an issue, Wenger was in no mood to disagree: "It is difficult to say but why not? We played against a team who fight for survival. We missed something today. The pitch was bad but that doesn't explain our poor performance. The performance of QPR explains our poor performance."
Wenger wants the manner of defeat to be a wake-up call for his team, who are still in third, three points ahead of Tottenham who play Swanseaon Sunday. "It is a good shock today to come back to what made our strength recently."
QPR were only too delighted to take full advantage of Arsenal's bad day at the office and each and every one of Mark Hughes's team played a full role in the performance. The QPR manager said: "To a man I thought we were exceptional."
The only sour note for the home club was the sight of one of the referee's assistants being struck by an object thrown from the crowd. Guardian
London 24/Paul Chronnell - Superb QPR boost survival hopes and end Arsenal’s winning
battling QPR gave their hopes of remaining in the top flight a huge shot in the arm with what could prove a priceless win over Arsenal at Loftus Road.
Goals from Adel Taarabt, his first this season, and Samba Diakite, his first for the club, saw Rangers record an unlikely but thoroughly deserved victory.
Arsenal may have arrived as the Premier League’s form team, with seven successive league wins behind them, but QPR showed scant respect for such a record with a resounding victory that, while not taking them out of the three on a dramatic day, will give them renewed hope of avoiding the drop.
For Arsene Wenger’s Gunners, this was a first defeat since January and lost them valuable ground in the race for Champions League places, with Chelsea winning well at Aston Villa and Spurs now having the chance to draw level in third place with victory over Swansea on Sunday.
In truth Arsenal were below-par all afternoon, and hardly deserved to be on level terms courtesy of Theo Walcott’s first-half strike.
There were no excuses for such a lacklustre Gunners display, as they welcomed Laurent Koscielny back to the starting lineup to field a first-choice back four, while Aaron Ramsey was also handed a start in place of Gervinho.
QPR, without the suspended Djibril Cisse, played Bobby Zamora up front, with Taarabt and Jamie Mackie supporting from the flanks.
But it was the combative central trio of skipper Joey Barton, Diakite, and Shaun Derry who Rangers boss Mark Hughes would have been looking to to set the early tone for the game and get in Arsenal’s faces.
Robin van Persie warmed Paddy Kenny’s hands with an early free-kick, but the home side certainly looked up for the challenge in the opening stages.
Twice they could have gone in front from set pieces, the first glanced clear off an Arsenal head but the second headed wastefully over by Zamora when he really should have hit the target.
Nevertheless it was fairly out of the blue that QPR took the lead, and even more unlikely was the identity of the goalscorer.
Taarabt had not scored a Premier League goal for Rangers despite being their top scorer in last season’s Championship title-winning campaign.
But midway through the half he gave Thomas Vermaelen the slip far too easily, and was calmness personified as he drew Wojciech Szczesny and slotted it past him into the net.
Cue pandemonium at Loftus Road from supporters who had not seen their side beat the Gunners since 1995. Having stunned Liverpool in their last home game, the belief was certainly starting to grow inside the compact, atmospheric stadium.
Taarabt now had a spring in his stride and Zamora’s strength was causing all sorts of problems for the Arsenal back four.
But in the dugout Hughes would have known that frustrating the Gunners for as long as possible was now the aim of the game, so would have been furious with the way they conceded an equaliser on 37 minutes.
Arsenal had barely composed a decent chance thus far, but when Van Persie and Walcott exchanged passes on the edge of the box, the England man was suddenly in space and clipped a right-footed shot around Kenny.
However, the ball came back off the upright but only as far as Walcott who reacted superbly to send it back into the net.
That knocked the wind out of QPR’s players and supporters and Arsenal dominated the remainder of the half, but only had a decent penalty shout for handball against Taye Taiwo to show for it.
The second half began in a similar pattern with the Gunners looking a lot more comfortable than they had done for large periods before the break.
Just before the hour mark Alex Song threaded a pass through to a suspiciously offside-looking Van Persie, but the flag stayed down and the Dutchman ran clear to unleash a fierce left-footed drive which Kenny did well to parry behind for a corner.
Arsenal were gently turning the screw and Rangers were being pushed deeper and deeper back. Mackie and Vermaelen were both booked for squaring up to each other followed by Song for tangling with Barton as both sides geared up for the final quarter of the game.
Vermaelen would have been well advised to concentrate on his game because the Arsenal vice-captain was having an afternoon to forget and it got a whole lot worse on 66 minutes.
The Belgian seemed to slip on the edge of the Gunners’ box to allow Mackie to wriggle clear. Referee Mike Dean played an excellent advantage when Vermaelen then tried to haul Mackie back, waving play on for the Scottish forward to lay the ball into the path of the Mali international Diakite who lashed an unstoppable finish past Szczesny.
The goal might have come slightly against the run of play at that stage, but from that moment on QPR played like a team who look like they have all the attributes to stay up.
Barton almost added a third with a rising drive that was deflected over as Arsenal, with Van Persie becalmed and now without a goal in three games – a relative drought for him in such a prolific season – did not really look like finding an equaliser.

Daily Star Sunday - Tony Senson - JOEY BARTON HAS SECOND GO AT QPR FANS
JOEY BARTON admitted last night he ‘didn’t feel at one with the fans’ after being criticised by them.
The QPR skipper was booed on his last home appearance and then used Twitter to respond in anger.
And in yesterday’s programme for the Arsenal game, he launched a second broadside.
He wrote: “To be perfectly honest, there was a stage earlier this week where I didn’t want to write these programme notes.
“I don’t feel one at one with all of the fans at the moment. I know it’s only a small minority, but it gets you down as a player.
“I see myself as a very strong character.
“I’ve had to put up with lots of stuff in my life.
“But not having fans support you does effect you. When fans are giving you stick, it does seep in.” Star
