MIRROR - Shepherd's Bush Green: QPR expect to land England keeper next week
Star will have his medical after Three Lions' final group game and is set to agree a £40k a week free-agent move to Loftus Road
Mark Hughes is confident of landing England keeper Robert Green on a free transfer next week.
Green will be given special permission to thrash out his future while the out-of-contract former West Ham keeper is on Euro 2012 duty in Polkraine.
QPR are hoping to tie up the deal after carrying out a medical next week once England have played their final group match.
Hughes has been in for various keepers including Green, Birmingham's Ben Foster and Fraser Forster of Newcastle, as last season's first choice Paddy Kenny is set to follow ex-Hoops boss Neil Warnock to Leeds.
Incredibly, the 32-year-old is set to take a pay-cut from the wages he was on at West Ham to around £40,000 a week, although it is believed he will get a big signing-on fee as he's signing on a free.
West Brom have also been after Green, but QPR boss Hughes believes he has won the race for the former England number one who was also a target for Malaga.
Foster, who spent last season on loan at the Baggies, is still wanted back at The Hawthorns, while Tottenham are also interested in him. Mirror
