YORKSHIRE EVENING POST By Leon Wobschall  Leeds United: Kenny deal is moving closer

The future of Leeds United target Paddy Kenny is expected to be finally resolved shortly – with the keeper returning from holiday today.

United boss Neil Warnock, who managed Kenny at both QPR and Sheffield United, wants to bring the 34-year-old to Elland Road with Kenny desperate to sort out his future once and for all now he is back in the UK.

The Halifax-born stopper, known to be keen on a switch back to Yorkshire with Leeds, tweeted yesterday: “Back home tomorrow (Thursday) and ready for it now and loads of stuff to get sorted.”

Kenny’s current club QPR are willing to sell him, but only once they have brought in a replacement with R’s boss Mark Hughes unwilling to do business otherwise.

Reports in the capital say West Ham keeper Robert Green’s move to Loftus Road is imminent, with the England international reportedly already agreeing terms.

Green could even complete a medical in Poland, where he is currently on Euro 2012 business with England, as early as today.

West Ham have made moves to account for Green’s impending departure, agreeing terms with Jussi Jaaskelainen, who Hammers boss Sam Allardyce used to manage at Bolton Wanderers.

Once the Green transfer is completed, Kenny is free to go, although the fact that talks are still ongoing regarding potential investment at Elland Road means United’s moves for players are effectively on hold at the moment.

A fee of £300,000 has been mentioned for Kenny - although it’s understood that could be wide of the mark with Rangers likely to seek around £500,000 for his services.

There’s also the matter of Kenny’s weekly wage packet, which would put him at the forefront of United’s current top earner..." Yorkshire Evening Post
