DJIBRIL Cisse scored twice for Rangers, who twice had to come from behind to earn a draw against German Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg at the SGL arena.
In the final fixture of the R’s pre-season campaign, Mark Hughes’s men were behind after 17 minutes when Aristide Bance struck from the penalty spot.
Cisse levelled in emphatic fashion in the 33rd minute, before the home side restored their advantage thanks to an Anton Ferdinand own goal just four minutes later.
But QPR weren’t to be denied and, after Junior Hoilett put the French hot-shot through on goal in the 55th minute, Cisse made no mistake from 12 yards.
Meanwhile, Ryan Nelsen made his R’s debut, while Ale Faurlin also made a long-awaited comeback from injury when introduced as a second-half substitute.
The best chance of the opening stanza arrived for the hosts on six minutes.
Knowledge Musona found space down the right before cutting the ball back to Bance, who fired over from inside the box.
Eleven minutes later, Augsburg were in front from the penalty spot.
The home side were originally awarded the spot-kick after Bance’s fierce free-kick was adjudged to have struck the arm of Nelsen.
Bance stepped up and made no mistake from 12 yards, drilling a low effort into the middle of the goal.
Augsburg went close once again on 30 minutes, with Giovanni Sio dispossessing Nelsen before firing wide.
Rangers were finding chances hard to come by but levelled with their first opportunity of the contest on 33 minutes.
Nedum Onuoha’s through pass may have evaded Kieron Dyer but it didn’t Cisse, who latched on to the ball before firing an unstoppable low effort into the bottom right-hand corner.
QPR only remained on level terms for four minutes, however, with a mix-up in the visitors’ rear-guard handing Augsburg their second goal of the afternoon.
A long ball forward sparked confusion between Ferdinand and Rob Green, with the latter heading past his own goalkeeper.
Green went some way to atoning for that earlier error three minutes before the break, beating away Sio’s long-range effort.
Rangers came out for the second period with a greater sense of purpose and, with that, almost drew level for a second time in the 52nd minute.
It was nearly a second goal for Cisse too, who saw his looped effort following Taarabt’s delicious pass crash back off the bar.
Three minutes later, Rangers were level. Hoilett’s exemplary cross-field ball put Cisse in the clear, who finished with aplomb when inside in the box.
Augsburg went mightily close to regaining the lead again on 58 minutes, with the lively Bance seeing his half-volley loop just wide of the left-hand post.
Perhaps the biggest cheer of the afternoon from the travelling R’s contigent arrived on 77 minutes, after Faurlin made his long-awaited comeback from injury as a replacement for Ji-Sung Park.
Green had to be at his best again to keep Dominik Reinhardt out on 81 minutes, before Rangers saw strong appeals for a penalty waived away two minutes from time when Fabio da Silva went down under challenge in the box.

BBC - Joey Barton's Fleetwood Town move from QPR collapses
Joey Barton's proposed loan move from QPR to Fleetwood has fallen through.
BBC Radio Lancashire reported that the 29-year-old England cap had been set to join the Cod Army on a six-month loan deal, which would speed up the time it would take to serve his 12-game ban.
However, it is now thought that QPR have opted against loaning the midfielder to a League Two side.
Barton said on Twitter: "Fleetwood adventure is over. I loved every minute of it. Great club."
Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley said: "We're really disappointed not to have landed the loan deal."
Had Barton joined the Cod Army he could have returned to action on 6 October or sooner. That would have been around six weeks earlier than if he stayed at QPR, because lower league clubs play more league and early-round cup games than top-flight sides.
And BBC Sport learned that the Football Association would not prevent the loan switch - so long as he did not return to QPR before they had played 12 games.
Barton agreed to join the Football League newcomers for a week during pre-season, but was not expected to play a match.
But he went on to play 45 minutes of their friendly with Kilmarnock at the end of July.
He knows several Fleetwood players from his younger days and has a close friendship with Cod Army forward Andy Mangan.
Barton was sent off on the final day of last season as QPR lost at Manchester City and was later found guilty of two counts of violent conduct by the Football Association.
The midfielder was initially shown a red card for an off-the-ball clash with City striker Carlos Tevez, and incidents with Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany came after Barton had been dismissed.
He received a four-match ban for the foul on Tevez and another eight for his further offences.
Rangers fined Barton six weeks' wages and stripped him of the club captaincy, as well as leaving him out of the squad for their pre-season tour of Malaysia.

Blackpool have rejected the chance to sign QPR misfit Joey Barton on a season-long loan.
Barton, 29, spent pre-season with the Championship side's League Two neighbours Fleetwood Town.
But while Rangers were willing to subsidise most of his £80,000-a-week wages, their offer was rejected by the Seasiders.
The Bloomfield Road club did not think it made financial sense to sign a player who must first serve a 12-game ban.
Blackpool have also been linked with Barton's QPR team-mate DJ Campbell, but a deal is as likely as Ian Holloway dressing in drag, according to the Tangerines' boss. Mirror
