QPR Official Statement re STADIUM STORY

CLUB STATEMENT

IN the wake of an article that appeared in today’s Daily Mail titled ‘QPR in talks over flash new home as they look to become next club to upgrade,’ the club has issued the following statement.

A QPR Spokesman said:
‘We are looking at a number of potential options for a new stadium and believe that Old Oak could provide one possible solution.

‘We have met with representatives of the GLA and the supporting local authorities to discuss whether a football stadium could be incorporated into any plan that comes forward for this site.’

    "...Remember what happened to Gianni Paladini when he was trumpeting a ‘takeover within ten days’ back in November?

    I bumped into Paladini in the toilets at Leeds United (the entrance to the Elland Road executive seats is the same one as for us plebs in the media) and, unprompted, he showed me email correspondence on his Blackberry with facts and figures relating to a takeover. Proof, he called it.

    But what transpired? When Pannu went public in the December to directly address the issue, he was dismissive and scathing of Paladini and said no deal had ever been signed.

    Paladini’s name has continued to crop up in the past few months. He could well be back on the scene, interest piqued again. And there has certainly been a lot of gossip at the club centring around the appearance of Gary Newbon at Blues’ home matches this season; the two are close pals going back a long way...."
