NonLeague Daily - Jan 15, 2008 SLADE RE-EMERGES AT BARKING
Dave Ross, manager of Essex Senior League club Barking, has made four new additions to the squad, including the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers star Steve Slade for his second stint with the Blues. Slade started his career with Tottenham in July 1994 and went on to make eight League appearances for the club until his £350,000 move to QPR in August 1996 following their relegation from the Premiership.
Slade (pictured) played for Rangers until the end of the 1999/00 season, notching up over sixty appearances, scoring six times, and he also made four appearances on loan with Brentford in that time.
Then came an unsuccessful move to Cambridge United where he failed to establish himself and left after three months to join Hayes.
Hayes released Slade at the end of the 2000/01 season and following spells in Iceland, a trial spell with Grimsby and Maidenhead United before having his first stint at Barking.
Dave Armstrong, Daniel Brook and Neil Matthews are Ross` other new signings...
