Nottingham Evening Post - Camp keen to win over fans
Robert Earnshaw has quickly established himself as a hit with Forest fans, despite spending last season at local rivals Derby County. Now Lee Camp plans to do the same after signing on loan from QPR yesterday.
But given the Reds' current plight, it matters little that he is a former Ram who made 97 appearances for Derby after coming through the ranks.
If he can help lift the Colin Calderwood's men out of the bottom three, he will soon be a fans' favourite.
Camp, who is set to make his debut against Ipswich tonight, said: "It is a good opportunity for me.
"I played every minute of every game at QPR last season, but lost my place this year.
"That is just football. A new manager brings a new direction and new ideas.
"Coming to Forest was pretty much out of the blue."
Camp is confident that with games coming in quick succession, he can help play a part in lifting Forest out of trouble.
He said: "I have been in this position before. We had a season at Derby where we were fighting relegation.
"And at QPR last year we were the last Football League team to win a game."
Camp was on the bench against Forest at the weekend as they lost 2-1 to QPR.
He said: "Forest had enough chances to win." Nottingham Evening Post
