Doherty: loan Ranger
Tommy Doherty didn't enjoy a final flourish in his loan spell from QPR but that hasn't dissuaded Paul Lambert from a possible approach for the player in the January transfer window.
Wanderers bid a premature farewell to the Northern Ireland International after three months at the club when he was dismissed for a second bookable offence at MK Dons.
With Sergio Torres still out and Stephen Gregory not yet figuring in Lambert's immediate plans Doherty's departure does limit options in the Blues midfield.
And after being impressed with the player since he returned to full fitness following almost half a year out of competitive football, the Blues boss isn't ruling out the chance that he may return along with fellow successful loanee Scott Golbourne, who is yet to make a breakthrough at Reading since returning to the Madejski Stadium.
"We have the possibility to see where we and Tommy are at," Lambert told wwfc.com.
"In the cold light of day he did brilliant for us and it's unfortunate that he has to go back." Wycombe
