On the opening day of the transfer window, a number of loans or signings are up in the air/have yet to be officially confirmed. The one item officially confirmed thus far is Tommy Doherty's return to Wycombe for the rest of the season. Meanwhile BBC, Skysports, etc are taking Ray Jones statement on the Official site to mean that he will be staying. Many QPR supporters remain skeptical this will actually occur.
Tommy Doherty returns to Wycombe for the rest of the season.
Wycombe Official Site - Wanderers have extended the stay of Tommy Doherty on a long term loan deal at Adams Park, wwfc.com can confirm.
The midfielder had returned to QPR from his original spell in December but with Paul Lambert still desperate to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window, Doherty has been snapped up for the remainder of the season.
Following his dismissal in his last appearance at MK Dons the 27 year old has served a three match suspension and is in contention for a place in the Blues' eleven for the visit of Rochdale on Saturday, if he overcomes illness.
"Tommy has had a flu virus but we're hoping he'll be ok," said Lambert.
"It's good to have him back because he did great for us when he was here before."
Doherty, who has appeared fifteen times for the club so far, becomes the third loan player to be re-signed by Lambert following the extension of deals with Ricardo Batista and Stephen O'Halloran. Wycombe
QPR OFFICIAL SITE - Doc Deal
QPR have extended the loan deal of Tommy Doherty to Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season.
The midfield terrier will remain a Chairboy until May 5, but will still have a year to run on his initial three year deal with QPR.
Doherty has made 11 starts since joining Wycombe in September, but also amassed two red cards. The deal means that Doherty will be available for Saturday's game against Rochdale. QPR
SkySports on Possible Sean Thomas to Bristol City Loan
Bristol City are looking into signing Queens Park Rangers keeper Sean Thomas on loan.
Thomas has emerged as an option for the League One club as City boss Gary Johnson aims to ensure he has adequate cover at Ashton Gate.
Though Chris Weale is fit again to provide the back-up to Adriano Basso, Johnson is wary about being left short in the keeping department.
"If you lose one of your goalkeepers, then it leaves you exposed and with very few options," said Johnson.
"We want to be sure we have enough cover in the squad and he (Thomas) is something we have been looking at."
Thomas has yet to make his first-team debut for QPR and may be allowed to move out on loan to gain experience. Sky
