QPR Reject Increased Colchester Bid for Ray Jones

The Club have today (Tuesday) rejected an improved six figure offer from Colchester United for teenage hot-shot Ray Jones.
Rangers Chairman Gianni Paladini knocked back an initial £200,000 offer from the Layer Road outfit yesterday morning and has also rebuffed the U's improved offer, made at lunchtime today.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Paladini reiterated his desire to keep his best players at Loftus Road: "Unless the price is right, we won't be selling our best players.
"We've rejected offers for a few of our players in the last 24 hours and I'll say it again, we're not willing to let our best players leave the Club on the cheap.''
Paladini continued: "We're building for the future here and that means keeping our best players.
"Ray has a very bright career ahead of him and he's an integral part of our first team squad.'' QPR

The U's improved six figure offer for Ray Jones has once again been knocked back by QPR.
The eighteen year old Londoner has made thirty-seven appearances for the Hoops, nineteen from the substitutes' bench, and has scored six goals.
An initial bid of £200,000 was made to the West London club on Monday morning for the striker who scored the winning goal against the U's at Loftus Road last season.
This bid was rejected straight away and the U's Board then discussed the possibility of increasing the bid for Jones, who could be seen as an ideal replacement for Chris Iwelumo.
Following these discussions, a further bid was made on Tuesday lunchtime but QPR Chairman Gianni Paldini insisted that this latest offer was still short of his valuation of Jones.
U's owner and Board member Robbie Cowling told CU-FC.COM that Jones was one of the players who Geraint Williams had identified to the board and they would do everything they could to strenthen Geraint's squad.
"We were hoping to secure the services of Ray Jones early this week but both our offers have so far been rejected. In the meantime, negotiations with other players who George has identified are ongoing and we are sure that there will be positive transfer news over the coming weeks." Colchester
