Palace boss Neil Warnock admits it is hard to plan his moves in the January transfer window because he does not know whether Ben Watson will be leaving the club.
The red-headed midfielder’s future has been the subject of intense speculation over the past six months after rejecting the offer of a new Eagles contract.
Watson has been linked with moves to West Ham, QPR, Birmingham and Nottingham Forest – but has remained at Palace and continued to play an integral role in Warnock’s plans.
But with the January transfer window less than four weeks away, Watson’s future will once again come under the spotlight.
And speaking to the Advertiser, Warnock admitted that what happens with the Eagles academy graduate is likely to affect how active he is come January.
He said: “It’s difficult with regards to what we are going to do in January or how much we are going to spend because we don’t know what’s going to happen with Ben.” This is Croydon


QPR Official Site - BOLDER LOAN EXTENDED
The Club can confirm it has reached agreement with Millwall Football Club to extend Adam Bolder's loan deal.
The 28 year-old midfielder initially penned a one month loan deal with the League One outfit, but that agreement has now been extended until Saturday 3rd January 2009.
Bolder has made five appearances in all competitions for the Lions, during an unbeaten spell which has seen Kenny Jackett's side jump to third in League One and progress to the third round of the FA Cup. QPR


Nottingham Forest Official Site - Camp Fired By Forest
- Lee Camp is not ruling out the possibility of extending his Nottingham Forest career beyond the end of his loan spell.
- The QPR goalkeeper's loan at The City Ground is due to come to an end next month but the 24 year old could stay on Trentside.
- Camp, who be hoping to secure his third successive clean sheet at Coventry on Saturday, told Forest World: "It's something that I think both parties are looking at but how far we go it's hard to say.
- "I'm preparing for Coventry on Saturday but could get a phone call and be preparing for Wolves at QPR.
- "That's just the nature of being a loanee with 24-hour recall. It's just a case of taking each day at a time - I know it's an old cliché but I can't really do much more than that."
- Camp, who had become a fringe figure at QPR this season, added: "I'm enjoying playing - I'm not one to sit around doing nothing.

"..GABOR Gyepes is settling in at the heart of Cardiff City’s defence, but he knows his battle is far from over.
Hungarian international Gyepes has now started three Championship matches alongside Roger Johnson, but admits: “Darren Purse is a quality defender and he’ll give it everything to win back his place.
“That’s good for the team and in many ways nothing has changed – it’s still Darren, Roger and I battling for two shirts.”
Gyepes made his full league debut for the Bluebirds during the 2-2 draw at home to Reading and played in the intense atmosphere of the South Wales derby against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Now he is preparing for Saturday’s home clash with Cardiff’s promotion rivals Preston at Ninian Park.
The man from Budapest is loving life with the Bluebirds since he landed a starting place.
He has now cleared another major hurdle in his playing comeback less than two years after being told: “You will never play professional football again.”
Gyepes ruptured cruciate knee ligaments playing for Wolves against Sheffield Wednesday during 2006. He was out for 18 months.
“It was the 94th minute, we were 3-1 down and I was near the halfway line,” said Gyepes.
“It was a nothing challenge and it shouldn’t have happened, but it was serious.
“I had suffered knee ligament damage before, in Hungary, but this was different. It was far worse. Almost everything was gone.
“I was told ‘that’s it, you won’t play again’.
“Thankfully, I would not accept that.”
He was crushed by the news, but vowed to seek out the best medical advice he could find and fight on.
He turned to Belgian surgeon Marc Martens, who has operated on top footballers like Marco van Basten, Ronaldo and Paolo Maldini, and they met in Milan.
“I was out for more than a year,” said Gyepes. “Then I was told to retire, that my knee would never be OK.
“That verdict smashed me. I believe the only person who can decide I will retire is me, nobody else.
“I am a professional sportsman and that is the worst sentence.”
Gyepes, though, refused to accept the verdict. He was out for almost two years, but he has fought back to full fitness.
He saw specialist, Martens, and he said he could help.
His work helped Gyepes put his injury nightmare behind him and now, having had his knee rebuilt, he is working on a whole new career
“I knew my chance would come,” said Gyepes. “I read in one paper that I was frustrated with all the waiting with Cardiff, but that has never been true.
“After all the time I have been out injured this was easy. I have been training hard, making sure I was ready when the time came.
“I knew it would at some stage....Gyepes was a useful striker when he played for Ferencvaros and fired 20 goals in 16 matches during his final season as a youth team player.
“I played in attack, midfield and defence – everywhere but goalkeeper,” said Gyepes.
“I was also a decent tennis player and my father, Laszlo, believes I would have been better at tennis.
“But I wanted to play a team sport and it was football for me.”
Gyepes played for Ferencvaros from the age of eight onwards, suffering his first serious knee injury in 2003.
He was out for a year, but returned to help Ferencvaros get into the European Champions League qualifiers.
“We played Sparta Prague and lost out over two close legs,” said Gyepes.
“Ferencvaros won the first game 1-0 and in the second game Sparta were 1-0 up after 90 minutes and edged it in extra time.
“After that we defeated Millwall over two legs in the Uefa Cup, drawing 1-1 in London and winning 3-1 in the return.
“Then we faced Feyenoord, Schalke, Basle and Hearts in the Uefa Cup groups.
“At that time I was in good shape, confident and playing well,” said Gyepes.
“Wolves offered me a trial, then a loan contract and, later, a permanent deal.”
It was in March 2006, during his 24th appearance for Wolves, that Gyepes went down injured again.
Medical opinion suggested that was the end for Gyepes, but he showed tremendous character to battle back, though he did not play again until he had signed for Northampton.
Ferencvaros were keen to sign Gyepes again, and he said: “I was training and playing with my old team, but knew if I was going to play in Britain I would have to go back quickly.

“I was offered a trial with Queens Park Rangers. That came about because of their Hungarian player Akos Buzsaky. We have the same agent.
“When Hungarian football went into a winter break I linked up with QPR and they said if I played for their reserves they would see how I did.
“That was great, but I really needed somebody to give me a break.
“Then Jim Barron, the goalkeeping coach at Northampton Town, saw me and mentioned me to his manager Stuart Gray.
“He was assistant coach at Wolves when I was there and he called my agent. I went training with Northampton in January this year, signed a contract and made 16 appearances before coming to Cardiff City.”
The sale of Glenn Loovens to Celtic opened the way for Gyepes to join the Bluebirds and he jumped at the chance in a deal thought to be worth around £200,000.....” WalesOnline
