Burnley Official Site - Gaffer: No Panic Measures
- Owen Coyle insists there will be no panic measures as the Clarets look to bounce back to winning ways against QPR tonight.
- The Clarets are searching for their first victory of 2009 when Championship rivals Rangers arrive at Turf Moor for the third round replay.
- Boss Coyle said: "There's no doubt that when the fans are high they are high and sometimes there is a tendency to get carried away.
- "We try to make sure we don't do that, but when you have lost a couple of games - as we have one of late - there is also tendency to think that the whole world has collapsed.
- "You have to remain level headed and firm in the belief that you are still the same club and doing the exact same thing.
- "A little bit of luck can always go against you and you can lose a little bit of form here and there, but there is no doubt we can bounce back from that quickly and go and look to put another of those cup runs together.
"There is no getting away from the fact that two or three players have lost a bit of form.
"So we have to get to the bottom of that and make sure that they bounce back and are vibrant and go back and show the team that we are.
"We are still the same players, the same team, and the same staff nothing has changed.
What happens is that you get a little smack and it is how you react and bounce back from it and that is what we are looking to do."
Coyle, who has no new injury worries ahead of the replay, which earns the winners a fourth round tie away to either Peterborough or West Bromwich Albion, added: "Once again we need to look to get an FA Cup run, like we did in the Carling Cup and do our best against a quality QPR side.
"We will have to be at our very best to progress, but I'd like to think that when we go for it we can also shut the back door, like we did at QPR in the original tie.
"If we do that, we can set a platform to build on."

Sports.co/Charlie Coffey - QPR and Ipswich set to go for Ward
- QPR and Ipswich are ready to make a £500,000 bid for Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward after the player's move to Barnsley fell through. Barnsley called off the transfer last week after talks over personal terms broke down. But Ward, who has scored 16 goals this season, could still be in for a move to the Championship with another two clubs ready to swoop.
Under-fire Ipswich boss Jim Magilton is desperate to improve his forward options with the pressure building at Portman Road, while QPR are also keen on the former Aston Villa trainee." Sports.co

Football League - BEAN THE BEST IN LEAGUE 2
- Brentford midfielder Marcus Bean has won the December Powerade Player of the Month Award in Coca-Cola League 2.
Marcus Bean produced a string of fine performances in December, netting three goals to help the Bees achieve three wins and a draw from their four league fixtures.
Bean began the month by bagging the first goal in a thrilling finish to the 2-1 victory against Bradford City, before helping to secure a solid point at Gillingham. His goal-scoring form continued with a brace against Bournemouth before an away win at Exeter City rounded off an impressive unbeaten month for the Bees, which leaves them challenging for top spot in Coca-Cola League Two.
Also short-listed for the December award were Kirk Hudson of Aldershot Town, Paul Benson of Dagenham & Redbridge and Macclesfield Town's Martin Gritton (now Chesterfield).
Chris Kamara, chairman of the Powerade Player of the Month Awards panel, said:
"Marcus Bean has enjoyed an outstanding month for Brentford. He has chipped in with some vital goals, most notably with his double helping to secure all three points against Bournemouth. His attacking displays from midfield are proving a valuable asset to Andy Scott's side as they continue to keep pace with Wycombe at the top of League 2."
Stephen Hunt of Reading won the award in the Championship and Matt Fryatt of Leicester City landed the League 1 accolade.
The Powerade Awards panel, chaired by Sky Sports pundit and Coca-Cola Ambassador Chris Kamara, made the decision. The panel also includes Steve Bates, Chairman of the Football Writers' Association, Malcolm Clarke, Chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation and Steve Watts, Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain." Nice, generous MK Dons farewell to Kevin Gallen
- MK DONS GALLEN AND DONS PART WAYS
Milton Keynes Dons FC has reached a mutual agreement with striker Kevin Gallen for the cancellation of his contract with immediate effect.
Kevin, 33, parts company with the Club having scored 10 goals in 49 appearances during an 18 month spell, following his arrival from Plymouth Argyle in July 2007.
Despite being forced to overcome a string of niggling injuries during his time in Milton Keynes, Gallen played an important role in the Dons' 2007/08 season, in which they won the League 2 Championship and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley.
A scorer of important goals during his time with the Dons, Kevin's last strike in an MK shirt came in the closing stages of a vital 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at stadiummk on November 1.
The former Queens Park Rangers front-man played eight games for the Dons at the start of this season before joining League 2 side Luton Town on loan in mid-November. Since arriving at Kenilworth Road, Gallen has played a pivotal role in the Hatters' good recent form with one goal in nine influential appearances.
He now becomes a free agent after agreeing a deal to cancel the final six months of his contract.
Kevin's talent and experience proved hugely valuable assets to the Dons during his time at stadiummk and everyone at the Club wishes him the best of luck with his future career. MK Dons
