Holloway in frame for return to Loftus Road
- Ian Holloway is in the frame to make a surprise return to Queens Park Rangers as the club's wealthy owners run out of patience with manager Paulo Sousa.
- Despite the club's denials, Sousa is understood to be on borrowed time at Loftus Road following a run of seven matches without a win and Holloway, who was sacked by QPR in February 2006, is out of work after spells in charge of Plymouth and Leicester.
- Rangers travel to Doncaster in the Championship tonight looking for their first win since 27 January. Should they lose and fail beat Southampton on Saturday, Sousa risks becoming the fourth managerial casualty since Formula One tycoons Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone took control of the club in November 2007.
- Holloway's stock fell after he took over at Leicester last season and the club were relegated to League One, but he is believed to have been sounded out about going back to Loftus Road and his return would be welcomed by a significant section of the Rangers support. Evening Standard
