Blackstock: I will produce my best form for Reds
- DEXTER Blackstock hopes he can finally produce his best form – because he feels settled for the first time in his career after joining Nottingham Forest.
The striker admits the uncertainty over his future at QPR had left him in limbo last season, with the London club allowing him to join the Reds on loan despite his status as the club's top scorer.
- While the 23-year-old says the frequent changes in management at Loftus Road were also a negative influence, with NINE different men in charge in just three years.
But Blackstock says he already feels at home in the City Ground dressing room and hopes to repay the faith Billy Davies has shown by paying over £1m for him.
- "As a professional, all you want is to concentrate on is playing your football," said Blackstock, who netted his first goal of the season against Bradford in midweek and hopes to be part of the side that faces West Brom today.
"For one reason or another I have never really had that over the last few years.
"There has always been other issues to think about.
"If I can get everything else out of the way now and just concentrate my efforts towards a Saturday afternoon, and getting the right results for Forest, it will only benefit me and the club."- Blackstock believes the smooth running of the club behind the scenes at Forest will make a real difference to the players.
"Forest is a very stable club and, in my time at QPR there were a lot of managers, a lot of change and a lot of politics going off," he said.
"Here, everything is set up right, there is an infrastructure to take us forwards at pace.
- "We don't want to get ahead of ourselves though. It is all about steady progress
