- Alessandro Pellicori has joined Serie B outfit AC Mantova on loan.
- The Italian striker has penned a deal until the end of the current campaign.

Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Italian striker Alessandro Pellicori.
- The 28 year-old, who has been on trial with Jim Magilton's First Team squad for the majority of pre-season, has penned a three year deal.
- Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Magilton expressed his delight at bringing the former Avellino front-man to Loftus Road.
- "Alessandro has done well with us during his trial period," said Magilton.
- "He's a natural goalscorer and we're delighted to add him to the already healthy attacking options we have at our disposal.
- "He'll take time to settle over here, but we're really excited by his arrival."
- Pellicori began his professional career at Cosenza, before moving on to Lecce in 2000.
- He made his Serie A top-flight debut in January 2001, before spending time on loan at a variety of Serie C Clubs, before settling down at Grosseto.
- Twenty-two goals in 52 starts represented a very decent return, but he was soon on the move again, this time signing for Serie B outfit Piacenza.
- However, he made just nine starts for Piacenza and penned a deal with Serie B rivals Cesena in January 2007.
That summer he moved on to newly-promoted Avellino, scoring an impressive 18 goals in 38 starts.
Pellicori will wear squad number 12.

Nigel Quashie Critizes QPR Fan Protests and Praises Chairman Briatore

- Nigel Quashie blasted Queens Park Rangers’ fans following their protest outside Loftus Road against billionaire chairman Flavio Briatore.
- Angry fans dressed in clowns outfits to complain about the way Briatore has turned the club into a laughing stock.
- But the 31-year-old former Hoops’ trainee, who rejoined the club a fortnight ago, reckons they should wake up and be grateful that they have a wealthy benefactor.
- In the 29 months since Italian Briatore has been at the helm, QPR have seen no fewer than six permanent managers come and go.
- And following Sc*n*horpe’s first ever win at Loftus Road the club sit 12th in the Championship, seven points off the play-offs.
- “Do the owners get credit for keeping the club afloat?” asked ex-West Ham midfielder Quashie, with hundreds of fans’ stinging chants ringing in his ears. “In the current climate, balancing the books is not always easy.
- “I first left QPR at 19 years of age and the club were in a difficult position – they needed to sell and balance the books. But the owners have kept the club afloat, they have pumped money in to keep it on a level and keep it on a structure.
- “The club is stable, in a financially good position and obviously no one wants to see the supporters outside.
- “Just look at the likes of Portsmouth - everyone thought the club was doing well, they got into the Premier League and clubs want to push further and all of a sudden things can turn upside down.
- “I’ve seen it for myself at West Ham. So you have to give credit to the owners, the owners here have given that structure, balanced the books and people have to respect that.
- “They are trying to get the club in a position where it doesn’t go under and you have to give them credit for that.”
- Quashie, signed by Mick Harford, the third QPR manager this season, could do little about Garry Thompson’s 73rd minute winner that leaves the club with only seven points gained from their last 11 Championship games.
- Scunhorpe were combative and deserved their famous win - they have won 10 points from their last four league games and move up to 16th. The Iron’s fan roared: “We are staying up.”
- They may not be out of the woods yet, but if they can hang on to key players like Gary Hooper, who Harford was reportedly trying to sign last week, then matters should be in their hands.
- The bustling 22-year-old forward was man-of-the-match in an otherwise dour game. He outfoxed the sluggish QPR defence, latching on to Donal McDermott’s lofted through ball and laid on Thompson for his third goal of the season.
- It was too much for Brigtore, who immediately stood up and left his seat in the directors’ box, much to the fans’ annoyance. Boos rang out at full time but Harford, in his first home game in charge since he was caretaker manager in 2007, believed that they they were not directed towards the players.
- “I don’t think that the fans were booing the team, who played well,” said the 50-year-old. “I don’t know what they were booing for and I’m not sure where Flavio went after the goal.
- “If the fans want to voice their opinion then they are entitled to - they pay their money and they pay the players’ wages. It doesn’t affect me or the players.
- “The club needs stabilising and someone to take control at all levels and take this club back to where it belongs. My remit is to take first team affairs and that is what I do, though Flavio has not given me any targets.
- “I don’t know what Flavio wants from this club. We want to be successful, but success takes time. Hopefully Flavio will give me time. You can’t have it overnight. We are aiming to win as many games as possible.” Mirror

Supporters massed behind the main stand after Garry Thompson’s 74th-minute goal had given Scunthorpe their first victory at Loftus Road.
Many were dressed as clowns because they feel co-owner Flavio Briatore has made the club a laughing stock by firing so many managers.
Quashie, who has just rejoined the club, said: “The fans have their views but the club is stable and in a financially good position.
“Look at Portsmouth. Everyone thought the club was doing well but all of a sudden things turned upside down.
“The owners here are trying to get the club in a position where it doesn’t go under and you have to give them credit for that.” Express

- Hundreds stayed behind after watching Rangers lose at home to sc*n*horpe for the first time ever. Many were dressed as clowns as they believe the Italian co-owner’s hire-and-fire policy with managers has left the club a laughing stock.
- And a run of just one win in the last 13 games hasn’t improved their mood either, with Briatore and part-owner Bernie Ecclestone leaving well before full-time. But Quashie, who has just rejoined the club from West ham, reckoned the fans should take a look at another of his former clubs. he said: “Fans have their views and I know what they’re about, I know what they want. But the owners have kept the club afloat."

- Rangers’ worries were of no concern to sc*n*horpe, who deserved to take all three points. Striker Gary hooper was his side’s outstanding performer. He set up winger Thompson for the winner and had a goal disallowed. No wonder the 22-year-old is being linked with a move to bigger clubs, with QPR understood to have been rebuffed.
