QPR Official Site - GOOD NEWS FOR AKOS
- Scan results have revealed Akos Buzsaky did not suffer any serious knee damage during Saturday's goalless draw with Norwich City.
- The Hungarian international was withdrawn during the first half of the game with a knee problem, but Head Physio Nigel Cox told http://www.qpr.co.uk/ this morning: "Akos has twisted his knee, which has caused inflammation.
- "We hope it will settle down quite quickly.
- "There has been no serious damage to the knee and we don't anticipate him being unavailable for too long.
- "He should be able to return to training with the rest of the First Team very soon." QPR
Yann Tear/Fulham Chronicle - QPR boss admits Lee Cook blunder
- LEE Cook would be playing first-team football again by now if the club hadn't poorly advised him at the end of last season, admits Neil Warnock.
- The frustrated winger, who underwent keyhole surgery on his knee two summers ago, has paid the price for coming back too soon towards the end of last season, according to the QPR boss.
“He was let down a little bit at the end of last season with different medical opinion of his knee and he shouldn't have played,” Warnock said.
“He obviously wanted to impress me, but he must have been in pain and it was obvious from day one when we came back in for training that he wasn't right.
- “The new surgeon said he shouldn't have been playing because his knee was so weak and he's had to spend the best part of 10 weeks building that knee up now.
- “I feel a bit sorry for him though, because we didn't pick that up. It's no wonder that he's been in pain. He's lost 10 weeks of his career through negligence really.”
- The Rangers boss added: “There's no timetable for his return, but He's doing very well at the minute. He's training very hard now. He's put on nearly an inch of muscle in his knee.” Fulham Chronicle
Telegraph/PA - Kenny makes Blades claim
Paddy Kenny feels Neil Warnock's current QPR squad are better-equipped for promotion than the one they went up with at Sheffield United.
Warnock guided the Blades to the Premier League in 2006 and is now looking to repeat the trick with Rangers currently top of the Championship after an unbeaten start to the season.
Goalkeeper Kenny, who left Bramall Lane to join Rangers in the summer, said: "It's definitely a squad to be reckoned with.
t's a stronger group than the one I won promotion with at Sheffield United.
"That's not being disrespectful to those lads in that squad, it's just an honest assessment.
"The talent we have got, combined with the experience and determination, should bode well for us over the course of the season." Telegraph
