- There was double cause for celebration once again at Loftus Road this Thursday lunchtime, with the news that Neil Warnock and Jamie Mackie have clinched the monthly npower Football League awards following the R's unbeaten start to the season.
- Warnock beat off stiff competition from Malky Mackay (Watford), Brian McDermott (Reading) and Billy Davies (Nottingham Forest) to scoop the coveted Manager of the Month gong.
- Mackie - the Championship's top scorer with eight goals - sealed the Player of the Month crown ahead of Jimmy Kebe (Reading), Chris Iwelumo (Burnley) and Danny Graham (Watford).
- In a remarkable month, the R's won four and drew one, with Mackie notching five goals in five games, including valuable doubles against Ipswich Town and Leicester City.
- What's more, in the wake of Adel Taarabt and Warnock winning their respective gongs for the month of August, Rangers have sealed a remarkable awards clean sweep in the opening two months of the season. QPR
Football League - WARNOCK NAMED MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock was celebrating today after winning the npower Championship Manager of the Month award for the second month in succession.
The Hoops have built upon their flying start to the season and have extended their lead at the top of the npower Championship table to six points and are the only remaining side in the npower Championship with an unbeaten record this season.
Warnock's side picked up some impressive results in September including a fine 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Loftus Road and another 3-0 victory at Leicester City.
Alan Curbishley, Chairman of the npower Manager of the Month panel commented: " Neil Warnock's side have been fantastic again and have enjoyed another unbeaten month following last month's award. Queens Park Rangers are setting the pace in the npower Championship and will take some catching at this rate."

FOOTBALL LEAGUE - MACKIE NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Jamie Mackie was celebrating today after winning the September npower Championship Player of the Month award.
The livewire striker enjoyed a scintillating run of form in September scoring five goals, including doubles against both Ipswich Town and Leicester City. Mackie's impressive start to the season has also been recognized with a first call-up to the full Scotland International squad.

Alan Curbishley has paid tribute to Neil Warnock's charges following the news that the gaffer has clinched his second Manager of the Month award of the season.

Jamie Mackie has dedicated his npower Championship Player of the Month award to the entire QPR squad.
The 25 year-old beat off stiff competition from Burnley's Chris Iwelumo, Watford goal-getter Danny Graham and Jimmy Kebe (Reading) to clinch the crown, but Mackie was reluctant to take all the praise.
"It's a great personal accolade, but it's not about me, it's about the whole squad," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"This award is for all the lads, because it's a team game and each and every player has played their part in helping me win this award."
Mackie enjoyed a purple patch in September, bagging five goals in as many games, including memorable braces against Ipswich Town and Leicester City.
Those goals, coupled with his outstanding work-rate, has seen Mackie emerge as a real fans favourite in W12 and he's delighted to be putting smiles on faces at Loftus Road.
"I've got great confidence in my own ability as a player and if the fans and the gaffer and my team-mates are happy with my contribution then that's great," he said.
"I'm a very level headed person though and whilst this has given me a great platform to progress as a player, I'm well aware that you can't take anything for granted in this game."
Rangers currently sit six points clear of second place Cardiff City at the top of the table and Mackie added: "We've had a great start, you can't deny that, but we're not getting ahead of ourselves.
"All we've done so far is given ourselves a great, great chance to kick on.
"There's great confidence throughout the squad and I think the fact we've come back from the dead in stoppage time twice already this season says everything you need to know about the spirit in the camp." QPR
Evening Standard/Simon Johnson - The turmoil fuelling Shaun Derry’s drive for promotion with QPR
Every night Shaun Derry looks at the Championship League table and can't believe how much his luck has changed.
Five months ago he was at Crystal Palace as the club fought against extinction and only remained in the Championship by drawing at Sheffield Wednesday on the final day.
That turmoil all seems like a distant memory now, though, as he is part of the Queens Park Rangers side leading the division by six points and being talked about as favourites for promotion to the Premier League.
Derry was signed on a free transfer by former Palace manager Neil Warnock, who made the same journey from Selhurst Park to Loftus Road last March.
One would think that Derry would want to forget the trials and tribulations he went through at his former club, who were handed a 10-point penalty during the season for going into administration and often struggled to pay him because of the debt they were in.
However, coming through such adversity at Palace has given him the inspiration to help QPR get off to an unbeaten start this campaign.
He said: “What I experienced last season is driving me to succeed with QPR now. When I reflect on what happened at Palace, the reason we were down there was due to unfortunate circumstances.“Throughout last season we were having lots of meetings over how we were going to keep Palace up and I'm sure from now until the end of this season we will be having similar meetings at QPR, only the talk will be about how to get promotion.
“Keeping Palace in the Championship has been my greatest achievement in football so far, even surpassing the promotion we achieved to the Premier League under Iain Dowie in 2004.
“Individually and collectively as a group of players we couldn't have gone out on a greater high. If the club had gone into League One they probably wouldn't have survived.”
It is no coincidence that Derry is playing under Warnock for the third time in his career having had his first taste of the Yorkshireman's style at Sheffield United in 1999.
Warnock has cemented a combative reputation in the dug-out and it is Derry who epitomises his fierce desire to succeed among the playing staff.
The 61-year-old is running out of time to have a second go at the Premier League, having been relegated at his first attempt with the Blades in 2007 amid the furore of the Carlos Tevez affair.
At 32, Derry finds himself in a similar position. His only taste of the top flight was brief, too, as Dowie only gave him seven games in 2004-05 before selling him to Leeds.
Derry concedes he has a lot in common with the man in charge and adds: “We have similar traits. People are quick to judge both Neil and myself in certain areas but we're very professional in the business we perform in.
“People might make the assumption that I mirror him in a playing type of way but I just feel we have similar beliefs in the game. He is probably disappointed in the way it ended at Sheffied United like I was in the way it ended at Palace but you move on and that's the beauty of the game. There is always another opportunity around the corner and we found ours at QPR.
“Time is running out because of the age Neil and I are, so to have a last crack at the Premier League is something we're not going to take too lightly.”
QPR have certainly thrived during Warnock's seven-month reign. When he took over they were in a relegation battle, too, but with good coaching he has steered them to first place.
The west London club have dominated the headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent seasons, with controversy surrounding the level of interference from former chairman Flavio Briatore, who appointed 10 different managers in two-and-a-half years.
Things have been much calmer since the Italian resigned at the start of the year and multi-billionaire Lakshmi Mittal increased his stake to become the largest single shareholder and effectively take charge.
Success has been down to Warnock's astute transfer window dealings. Jamie Mackie cost £150,000 from Plymouth and has already scored eight times.
Derry believes the best transfer QPR made was Warnock himself, though, and said: “If you were to speak to any of the players, especially those who have been there for a number of years, they would probably say a manager like Neil Warnock is what's been missing.
“For the last four or five years this club has been very much at the forefront of publicity at Championship level and, sadly, there has been a lot of talk but not enough action.
“When he comes into a football club he actually runs the place and with no disrespect to previous regimes, perhaps there has been more than one voice speaking at one time before.
“What we're all aware of now is what the manager wants, he gets, and everyone is behind him.
“There is no denying we have made a great start and we have set a standard. It is very important the fans keep their feet on the floor, though.
“Football is full of cliches but you do need everyone to be patient at this stage of the season.” Standard
Talksport - Sheffield United and QPR chasing Reading centre-half
Reading defender Alex Pearce is wanted by Sheffield United and Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers.
Pearce has been in fine form for Reading this season and he has helped Brian McDermott's men to seventh in the table.
QPR manager Neil Warnock and Blades boss Gary Speed have been alerted to Pearce's performances and Warnock hopes to win the race to land the 21-year-old - rated at around £500,000 - when the transfer window opens." Talksport

- Mo Sharif has signed a professional contract with QPR following a string of excellent performances at Under-18 level.
- The 17 year-old striker joined the R's in the summer on an initial trial basis and suitably impressed Youth Development Manager Steve Gallen.
- Gallen told www.qpr.co.uk: "He has been fantastic. I remember on the first day of training I shouted over to Marc Bircham about him because of some of the stuff he was doing.
- "This contract is well deserved.
- "He can play up front, in midfield or out wide. Importantly, he's got a real knack of putting the ball in the back of the net - headers, volleys, tap-ins, a real mixture.

- Paul Hart has emerged as a shock contender to become the new manager of Hibs.
- The ex-Portsmouth, QPR and Crystal Palace boss has submitted his CV to Easter Road chief Rod Petrie and is keen on replacing John Hughes.
- Hart, 57, has a wealth of experience in English football and became a hero at Selhurst Park last season when he kept Palace in the Championship - despite the club being in administration.
- Now he's determined to get back into the game and Record Sport understands he is willing to start a new life in Scotland with the Hibees.
- Hart said: "The Hibs job is one which really interests me. They're a club with a great tradition in Scottish football and have produced some excellent young players over the last few years.
- "That kind of club is one that appeals and excites me."
- Petrie is aware of Hart's attributes and the Englishman's CV makes him one of the leading candidates to take over from Hughes, who was sacked on Monday.

Unfortunately a bug in the Flash service has been identified by PERFORM's streaming partner Akamai, which has resulted in some customers losing their connection, and ultimately resulted in the commentary becoming inaccessible for a period of time during the match. This issue has been experienced globally, with many companies reporting the same issues.
- A workaround has been developed by Akamai and is being implemented this week, with roll out expected on Thursday 7th October. Meanwhile PERFORM continue to look at other options including improving the speed with which broken connection can be replaced.

BBC Sport - QPR boss Neil Warnock said he is happy with his current squad and has no plans to recruit any new players when the transfer window reopens in January.
Warnock's side are six points clear at the top of the table after an unbeaten start to the season.
"I was asked five weeks ago what I needed. I said I don't want anything," Warnock told BBC London 94.9.
"I want to get the lads fit that are injured and then we'll have a look at it again in January."
Warnock said last weekend's last-gasp 2-1 win at Crystal Palace proved how the strength in depth in his squad had improved.
Substitutes Mikele Leigertwood and Tommy Smith combined to set up Heidar Helguson's injury-time winner at Selhurst Park.

"Last season in particular, we didn't have a bench that you could change games with," said Warnock.
"We had youngsters, but now we have got people on the bench who can change games. We've got three or four lads who aren't in the team now who are coming back to fitness.
"It's great for me, I'll have to make decisions about who to leave out rather than who to bring in."
Warnock insisted that it was too early to get too excited about QPR's fine start to the season - although he admitted a return of 26 points from the opening 10 games was beyond his 'wildest dream'.
"It couldn't have gone any better really, could it?" he said.
"It's difficult because managers all know its such a long season with 46 games - and I think the league starts taking shape after 10 games.
"But to be where we are is remarkable really. We could have lost some of the games, but we've had the spirit and the ability to get results probably when we shouldn't have, and that's why we're where we are.
"I thought we'd have a decent start, I think we've signed some good players in the summer, not just the ones we paid money for, but also the bread and butter players which I don't think QPR have had too many of over the years.
"We've always looked at the glamorous side of things, but you need those bread and butter players and I've been very pleased with three or four players like that."
The R's boss says he was having a fantastic time with his side in such good form.
"I've never been happier. I saw Michael Buble on Monday, I couldn't have done that in Sheffield or anywhere else could I?
"I just love being down here in London and I never thought I'd ever say that.
"I thought it was the back of beyond when you got past Watford, but I love the rapport. Not just with our own fans, I love going out in town and talking to the Tottenham and the Chelsea and the Arsenal fans.
"They all make me aware of how good their sides are and it's great to talk to fans from other clubs around the place.
