Ledesma Will NOT Be Joining Brighton

- Albion will not be offering Argentinian free agent Emmanuel Ledesma a contract.
- The former QPR attacker featured in a friendly win at Fulham on Tuesday but will not be kept on.
- Boss Gus Poyet said: “He has plenty of quality and a great left foot but he would not be likely to start and we do not need to bring in cover for the positions he would play.

QPR Official Site - MILLER: 'BEST YET TO COME'
- R's loanee Ishmael Miller believes the 'best is yet to come' from him, as the focus of attention switches firmly towards Sunday's mouth-watering showdown with Nottingham Forest at Loftus Road.
The 23 year-old is yet to taste defeat since his loan move from West Bromwich Albion, with Rangers recording three wins and a draw since his arrival from the Hawthorns in the January transfer window.
And with fellow high-fliers Forest coming to town on Sunday lunchtime, the powerhouse front-man has revealed he's getting back to his best.
"I'm really enjoying it here," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"I feel as though my sharpness is returning with every minute I play and hopefully I'll be up to full fitness and firing on all cylinders in the next couple of games."
Miller added: "I'm enjoying my football again.
"I'm very close to my family and everyone keeps telling me I'm back to my old self and a far happier person.
"That's great to hear from people close to me, and I feel a lot better about myself now I'm playing games."
Miller - who was part of the Baggies squad that won promotion to the top-flight in 2007/08 - believes Forest will provide a stern test of the R's credentials on Sunday, commenting: "It's another big game for us, but they all are when you get to this stage of the season.
"We've managed three wins and a draw in my short time here and this is another opportunity to put our foot on the gas and cement our position at the top.
"Forest have got a very strong squad.
"They've got a lot of athletic players at their disposal, but the same can be said for us. That's the way the game is going nowadays.
"They'll probably be one of the strongest contenders between now and the end of the season, so we know we'll have to be at our best."
With Rangers not in action until Sunday lunchtime, much of the focus will be on the other teams in the shake up on Saturday afternoon, but Miller is only worried about what the R's do, adding: "We can only focus on what we're doing week in, week out.
"We don't really worry about what's going on elsewhere.
"If we take care of our own business, we'll be fine." QPR
East Kent Mercury - New Dover Athletic signing Dominic Shimmin posied for debut against Weston-super-Mare
Central defender Dominic Shimmin is set to make his Dover Athletic debut in the Blue Square Bet South home game against Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was at Arsenal as a youngster with Adam Birchall, and was without a club after leaving Scottish club Dundee when they went into administration after agreeing a two-year deal last summer.
He also had a spell with Morton after three years with Queens Park Rangers.
Whites boss Martin Hayes said: "Dominic received a couple of offers but has been training with us for a week to 10 days."
Hayes has been looking for defensive re-inforcements, after becoming concerned about the number of mistakes and admitted it was the same story in the 2-1 home defeat against leaders Braintree on Tuesday night.
He said: "I got the performance I wanted in front of the home fans but we didn’t quite get the result. We put a lot into the match but still made defensive errors."
Dover face mid-table Weston hoping for vital home points, before four successive away games, starting at Havant on Monday.
Hayes added: "We have still got 51 points to play for and have got
to make sure we get a big chunk of them.
"This is not an easy league to get out of and we won’t go up on just our reputation alone."

Story A fine 3 - 0 victory by London club Queens Park Rangers, newcomers to the English First Division, plunged the once mighty Manchester United deeper into trouble today (Tuesday, January 1). Before a big Bank Holiday crowd, Rangers produced some superb attacking football to keep their place among the top half dozen clubs in the First Division. Manchester United, despite the half-million pounds spent by manager Tommy Docherty on new layers, were never in contention. but Docherty's latest signing, left-back Steward Houston signed from London club Brentford for GBP 50,000 last Saturday, at least made a promising debut. Alex Stepney, in the United goal, also had fine game. He had already pulled off several memorable saves when, in the 18th minute, Rangers mounted a quick attack and Givens scored with a fierce drive.
The second goal, 16 minutes later, came from a setpiece corner -- Stan Bowles heading the ball into the net. Bowles completed the humiliation of United with an extraordinary goal 20 minutes into the second half. He dummied his way past at least four paralysed United defenders and scored with an angled shot beneath the diving Stepney. Final score: Rangers 3 United 0.
SYNOPSIS: A big Bank Holiday crowd tuned up at Loftus Road on Tuesday to see the London club Queens Park Rangers take on Manchester United. Rangers, playing from right to left, are newcomers to the English first division this season. And they soon showed the sort of attacking football that has made them among the top half-dozen clubs. Besides good teamwork, Rangers were also showing plenty of individual flair. Here, it's Gerry Francis making a brilliant run ... and bringing an equally fine save from United goalkeeper Alex Stepheny. But even Stepney's courage couldn't prevent Don Givens putting Rangers in the lead after a quarter of an hour. Rangers went further ahead from a corner on the half-hour. Stan Bowles rose above the Manchester Untied defence to head the goal. In the second half, now, and Queens Park Rangers still on the attack. Though United manager Tommy Docherty has spent a half-million pounds strengthening his team, his entire defence was mesmerised by Stan Bowles who scored another good goal. Final score -- Rangers three, United nil.
U.K.: PENALTY GOAL FOUR MINUTES FROM END OF GAME GIVES QUEENS PRK RANGERS 2-1 WIN OVER ARSENAL AND CHANCE OF WINNING ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Story A penalty goal four minutes from the end gave Queen's Park Rangers a vital 2-1 win over Arsenal on Monday (19 April), after they seemed to have lost their hope of winning the English Football League championship for the first time. Rangers needed two points from their match against Arsenal to stay in the championship battle. But with only minutes left, Arsenal seemed sure to draw 1-1. The Arsenal defender, Richard Powling, tripped Rangers striker Stan Bowles in the penalty area in the 86th minute, and England skipper, Gerry Francis, scored the vital winning goal from the spot.
The victory gave Rangers a one-point lead over Liverpool, who had a match in hand and beat Manchester City in Manchester by 3-0 on Monday. But the lead was short-lived as Liverpool's win gave them a one-point lead over Ranges in the championship. Arsenal took a surprise lead in the 51st minute when a long shot from Brian Kidd bounced into Rangers' net off the chest of goalkeeper Phil Parkes. Frank McClintock equalised two minutes later. SYNOPSIS: Queens Park Rangers, seen here attacking, scored a vital two-one win over Arsenal in London on Monday. In this move, Stan Bowles narrowly fails to open scoring. UNITED KINGDOM: BRITISH SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP - ENGLAND UNDER NEW MANAGER JOE MARCER BEATS WALES. SCOTLAND - BRITAIN'S ONLY WORLD CUP SIDE -- LOSE TO NORTHERN IRELAND.
Story Playing their first game under new manager Joe Mercer, England produced a lively performance to beat Wales 2-0 in Cardiff, Wales, at the start of the british Soccer Championship on Saturday (11 May). Scotland, the only British country to qualify for the World Cup, depressed their fans by losing 1-0 at home to Northern Ireland in the other Championship fixture. Last week the England Football Association sacked manager Sir Alf Ramsey who brought the World Cup in 1966. Caretaker manager Joe Mercer, who will run the side until another successor is found, played a very different English side from the one Poland recently knocked out of the World Cup. It was two new men who made and scored the first English goal ten minutes before half time. Welsh goalkeeper Phillips could not hold Keith Weller's cross-shot and Stan Bowles stabbed the ball into the net. England continued to move more fluently than the Welsh but the second goal came from a nightmare mistake by new international Villars. His wild miss-kick on the goaline let Keegan's overhead kick trickle in. In Glasgow, Scotland -- the underdogs in the competition - Northern Ireland beat scotland by the only goal. Tommy Cassidy broke clear after a well worked Irish move. He lost control of the ball but regained it from Scottish goalkeeper Joe Harvey and directed it into goal in the same movement. Northern Ireland held off lengthy but obvious Scottish pressure in the second half. Scotland's Jordan headed against the cross bar but Northern Ireland made as many chances and deserved their win. Scotland manager Willy Ormond knows his side will have to play with much more inventiveness and fire to succeed in their World Cup group against Brazil, Yugoslavia and Zaire next month.

U.K.: QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS END SEASON WITH 2-0 WIN OVER LEEDS.Story After a 2-0 win over Leeds at their home ground in London, U.K. on Saturday (24 April) Queen's Park Rangers went to the top of the English Football League with 59 points. It was the last of Rangers' 42 match league season and they must now await the outcome of Liverpool's last match away with Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 4th May to see if they will win their first ever League title. Liverpool, whose game against Wolverhampton was postponed because striker John Toshack played for Wales against Yugoslavia in Yugoslavia on Saturday, need only a goalless or low scoring draw to win the title for a record ninth time. Rangers lived dangerously in their tense clash with Leeds on Saturday but eventually went ahead through Dave Thomas in the 62nd minute. Stan Bowles made it 2-0 eight minutes from the final whistle. Leeds came close to scoring when they built up an attack in Rangers' penalty area, and it was Rangers' England goalkeeper, Phil Parkes, who saved Rangers when Duncan McKenzie shot. Parkes showed he had once again found his true form after making some uncharacteristic errors in recent matches. He stopped a shot from Leeds Striker Trevor Cherry and kept Rangers in the championship by stopping a second strike at goal by McKenzie. Rangers took the lead when Frank McLintock crossed the ball and Thomas was waiting to score with his head. Rangers' second goal began with a move deep in their own half. U.K.: QUEENS PARK RANGERS OF LONDON BEAT SK BRANN BERGEN OF NORWAY 4-0 IN FIRST LEG MATCH OF UEFA CUP FIRST ROUND.Story UFFA Cup football -- and forward Stan Bowels was man of the match when he scored a hat-trick in Queens Park Rangers four-nil victory on their home ground in London on Wednesday (15 September), in their first round, first leg game against SK Brann Bergen of Norway. SYNOPSIS: The first goal for Rangers -- in the hooped jerseys -- came from a cross by number seven, Thomas, to Webb at number six. Bowles, playing number ten, headed the ball straight into the net. Bergen's Larsen, number 11, made a brave attempt at a come-back but QPR's goalkeeper Parkes, was too good for him. Rangers on the attack again for their second goal. Hollins at number 4 to Bowles, Bowles to number 11, Givens, who took the ball into the goal area before passing back to Bowles for him to put it into the net. Bergen two-nil down at half-time -- and facing gloomy prospects of getting through the first round of the Cup. Rangers quickly gained possession of the ball in the second half from a Bergen kick-off and took it straight towards the visitors' goal. Thomas came down the wing to gain a corner kick. Thomas took the corner and gave it to Gillard, number three, who headed the ball across to Bowles for a neat side-kick into the net to give the QPR forward his hat-trick. QPR three, Bergen nil. Bergen had few chances -- and those they did get, they threw away. Number 8, Hellesoe, was given an unguarded net at close range -- but missed. Rangers on the attack for their fourth and last goal. Bowles puts it across the goal area for a header to be picked up by Masson playing number nine -- and Masson making absolutely sure of total victory.
U.K.: QUEENS PARK RANGERS DEFEAT NEWCASTLE 1-NIL IN FIRST DIVISION FOOTBALL
Story The league leading Queens Park Rangers squeezed to a narrow victory over newcastle on Saturday (27 September) thanks to the one goal scored by Mick Leach. There were several dangerously close shots at the Newcastle goal during the first half. On one occasion, Leach nearly headed the ball into the goal but Newcastle goalie Milk Mahoney made a spectacular save. Later Don Masson took a long shot at the goal but it bounced off the top bar. Finally, on a free kick the ball was booted gently aside to Dave Clement who took a long shot but it was wide of the goal. It wasn't until late in the first half that the Rangers succeeded in scoring. The Rangers wore attacking and Stan Bowles set up the score with a pass to Mick Leach who blasted it past the goalie. It turned out to be the only goal in the game. Newcastle was seldom in scoring position although they did threaten when Malcolm Mcdonald fired a fine shot at the foal. Unfortunately for Newcastle, goalie Phil Parkes managed a diving save. The Rangers threatened once more in the first half when don Givens manoeuvred through the defence and passed to Stan Bowles. Bowles' shot at the goal was wide. Final score, one to nil for Queens Park.
