Posted on: Mon 02 Apr 2012

The Club is aware of a coin throwing incident that took place in the latter stages of Saturday's home fixture against Arsenal at Loftus Road.

The Club are now in the process of reviewing CCTV in an effort to identify those people responsible and will take the appropriate action once this process has been completed.

QPR supporters are reminded that this is a very serious offence and anyone caught throwing an object onto the pitch - towards officials or players - will be issued with an immediate lifetime ban from Loftus Road.

QPR CEO, Philip Beard, added: "Such behaviour is simply not acceptable at Loftus Road, or anywhere else for that matter.

"As a Club, we will do everything possible to prevent such incidents happening again.

"The Club appeals to any fans who saw the coin throwing incident to come forward and assist our enquiries."

If you wish to report the incident confidentially, please report it to Stadium Control by texting 07557435421 QPR

THE GUARDIAN - Five things we learned from the Premier League this weekend
Andy Carroll has hit a new low, Wrestlemania has arrived early and Joey Barton is right ... for once

4) Barton is right ... for once

Being in agreement with Joey Barton feels a strange experience but the Premier League's existentialist had a point when asking QPR fans to stop booing him in his programme notes before Saturday's 2-1 victory over Arsenal. "I don't feel at one with all of the fans at the moment," he wrote (time to get back on Twitter, Joey?) in response to the abuse he received after his dismal display against Liverpool in the previous home game.

Barton does not deny he had a poor match – "I couldn't physically function" – and perhaps deserved some criticism but the invective that met his withdrawal at Loftus Road is endemic of a modern game in which certain supporters feel they have the right to castigate their own players just because they have paid the entrance fee to the ground. Cursing under your breath is one thing but hurling abuse at an individual who, one presumes, is doing his utmost to help the team seems bizarre and counter-productive. The protests may have stemmed from a belief that he was not pulling his weight but having a bad game can easily be misinterpreted in such a manner.

It was a different story against Arsenal. QPR fans got behind their captain and inspired him to a match-winning display in midfield alongside the guile of Adel Taarabt, composure of Samba Diakité and endeavour of Jamie Mackie. The crowd "willed him into a top-class performance" according to Mark Hughes .If that spirit and equilibrium can be maintained between now and the end of the season, they could stay up. Taarabt explains early season slump: 'My head was in Paris'

Adel Taarabt admits the reason for his early-season slump in form was a move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsing.

The QPR midfielder was wanted by the French club’s mega-rich Qatari owners but director of football Leonardo blocked a move.

The 22-year-old went without a goal until Saturday’s win over Arsenal but is now in Mark Hughes’ plans as the club battle against Premier League relegation.

“I was hurt early in the season because my head was in Paris,” Taarabt said.

“With Paris it was done. I was already in Paris where I met with the Qataris. But the arrival of Leonardo blocked things.” Mirror

20 Biggest Narcissists in World Football History

Narcissistic, egomaniac, selfish, they are all one in the same in many ways, and the world of football is plagued with many of players who fit the bill for all those words.

All around the globe there are players and managers alike with egos bigger than their heads with the comments and actions to prove it.

History as well as the modern-day game are full of many, and here is a list of some of the biggest around at the moment....

#11 Adel Taraabt

The Npower Championship was never hard enough for him, but since moving to the English Premier League with Queens Park Rangers, Adel Taarabt has been little more than unimpressive.

He did finally score a goal under Mark Hughes, but there is still a long way to go before the player is worth his salt in the EPL.

A summer with so much speculation of his big transfer last year has turned into a sea of crickets when you mention his name for a transfer these days..."

And then #17 JOEY BARTON

Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton has a reputation and ego to match.

The player has done his best to make amends for all the wrongdoings he was guilty of at Manchester City and Newcastle, but his time has been short at QPR and there is still time...." Bleacher Report
