Lee Cook: QPR Squad Returns From Spain re His Future

I'll only leave if it's the right move

The squad has all just come back from four days in Marbella. The club paid for us to go for a bit of team bonding, and to say well done for staying up. It was a good trip and we all got on really well. Now we're all really looking forward to the next season – after we play Stoke of course.

I was hoping to play in that game but unfortunately it looks as though I'll be missing it because my left knee isn't quite ready. If I play I might do it some more damage so I'm just going to rest it and get it ready for next season. It's not serious, it just needs a bit of rest, but there's no point in risking it.

I always had confidence that we'd stay up this season, but at one stage we were playing some really good football and the results just weren't coming. We were wondering then if we were meant to go down. I don't know why it turned around, to be honest. It's not as if we suddenly gelled.

If and when I get into the Premiership I want to stay there for a good few years.

But we ground out a couple of scrappy wins, Dexter Blackstock hit a bit of form and stuck the goals in, and the fans were different class. They came out in numbers and that gave everyone a real boost.

I went up to watch Coventry in with the fans and the noise they made was unbelievable. I loved sitting with the fans again, I can't remember the last time I was at an away game because I'm usually playing in them!

After the Stoke match, there'll be a few people coming and going this summer, in fact the manager told a few players today they would be moved on. As for me, the chairman's put a price on my head and whether that will put people off or not I don't know.

If an offer comes in I'll have to see if they accept it and then I'll make my decision. Until the chairman decides if he wants to sell me then nothing happens
.

Obviously I want to play at the highest level, but I want to make sure if I do move that it's the right move. If and when I get into the Premiership I want to stay there for a good few years and prove I can play at that level, because I think I've got the ability.

If I go to a team that's favourite for relegation then it's going to be hard to stay in there; I want to go to a team that I'll find difficult to get in, then work my way in and stay there and show that I can play.

When that time is I don't know, but I definitely want it at some stage of my career
