Vital Football/QPR on Gorkss to Preston

Miror - Wolves target QPR top scorer Dexter Blackstock
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is ready to make a £1.5million move for QPR striker Dexter Blackstock.
McCarthy is keen to strengthen his side's promotion bid but the wealthy Londoners will not want to lose one of their top players.
QPR are hoping Brazil manager Dunga will help persuade Manchester City's Samba star Elano to join them.
Elano is wanted on loan but he is worried about his international chances if he drops into the Championship. Mirror
BBC: John Gregory on Michael Mancienne
'...And having watched him "cruise" through those reserve games, it was not long before the then QPR boss John Gregory snapped up Mancienne on loan in October 2006.
"I'm a huge fan," Gregory told BBC Sport. "He is better than Terry was at the same age. We fell in love with him at the club. He's very quick, reads the game brilliantly and has the pace to get out of trouble.
"When the ball was played over the top there was no one quicker in the division. He's a dominant central defender and tidies up brilliantly.
"He's brave, tackles well and is really good in the air for not a tall player."
The former Aston Villa and Derby boss managed QPR for a year until October 2007 and despite initially utilising Mancienne as a right-back, enjoyed watching his development into a central defender.
"We questioned whether he would be strong enough," Gregory added. "Chelsea reserves is one thing but Championship life or death games were another.
"He was caught ball-watching occasionally but he has learned from his mistakes. He is outstanding now."
After rejecting the offer of representing the Seychelles (his family moved to the UK three years before his birth), Mancienne captained the England Under 18s before he was called up by Pearce last year.
Mancienne helped England U-21s qualify for the 2009 European Champs
And with a month remaining on his loan period at Wolves, manager Mick McCarthy says Mancienne has been a huge factor in helping his team to a six-point lead at the top of the Championship.
But is he good enough to make the international grade?
McCarthy thinks so, saying Mancienne was "ready" for the next step up, claiming his senior call-up is just part of a "natural progression".
Gregory sees no reason why Mancienne will not earn many England caps, comparing his situation to a similar baptism of fire for Gareth Barry when he was introduced to the senior set-up aged 17.
"So far Mancienne has coped admirably with everything thrown at him," said Gregory, Barry's manager at Aston Villa between 1998-2002.
"Barry came through it all and there is no reason why Mancienne can't do the same.
"If you look at him play you see there's a Rio Ferdinand there. Wolves is a great club for him right now, he's got a very supportive family and he's got a fantastic future."
With injury forcing Rio Ferdinand's absence on Wednesday, Aston Villa's Curtis Davies and Everton's Joleon Lescott in the squad, and the likes of excluded Jonathan Woodgate in good form for Spurs, competition for the England centre-half spots is hot.
If Mancienne's development continues as it has done, his club career may make a few twists and turns, but as far as his international duties are concerned, there seems to be no turning back. BBC

IN RESERVE: LEDESMA SET TO FEATURE
Emmanuel Ledesma and Kaspars Gorkss are both set to feature for QPR Reserves against Watford this afternoon. The duo have been named in an otherwise inexperienced second string for the Totesportcasino.com Combination Cup tie at Loftus Road.
Rangers will be keen to get back to winning ways in the competition, after succumbing to a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in their opening Cup fixture of the season earlier this month. The match kicks off at 2.00pm.
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for Under-16's. However, Season Ticket holders can enter free of charge, on the production of their booklets.

The Plymouth Herald - re Simon Walton
"....Meanwhile, out-of-favour midfielder Simon Walton wants to stay and fight for a first team spot after rejecting a loan move to League One club Crewe Alexandra.
The 21-year-old, who signed from Queens Park Rangers in August, decided on Friday he did not want to make the move to Crewe.
Sturrock said: "I can appreciate his situation. He has just had a kid with his partner and she's going to move down here, so he doesn't want to travel away to Crewe, but I had to give him the option because of the lack of (reserve team) games.
"He wants to fight for his place – that's the commitment he has shown – but there is a learning curve for him...."

LEE CAMP TALKING "WE" -About Nottingham Forest!
Our confidence is on the rise - Camp
City will have to find a way past one of their former goalkeepers in Saturday's televised game at Nottingham Forest - and even a penalty could be far from a for mality.
Lee Camp has saved spot-kicks in Forest's last two away games to earn them vital points in their battle to escape the Championship relegation zone.
On loan at the City Ground from Queens Park Rangers, the 24-year-old 'keeper turned away Michael McIndoe's injury-time penalty to earn a 2-2 draw at Bristol City on Saturday.
Camp also foiled Nacer Barazite from 12 yards to secure a point against his former club, Derby, at Pride Park.
The former England Under-21 'keeper, who played three times for the Canaries during a three-month loan spell two seasons ago, believes Forest are growing in confidence after extending their unbeaten run to four games.
He said: “The more points we get keeps pulling other teams back into that relegation table that is forming and, if we are picking up points, confidence will get higher.
“If you look at how many saves I have to make and what I have to do in a game, it is very minimal. For me, there has not been a bad performance since I have been here.”
Camp was delighted with his spot-kick save and added: “It was a harsh decision, the penalty, but sometimes they go for you and sometimes against.
“The penalty was the same way as against Derby, a nice distance for me but any penalty save is a good save so I was pleased with it.”
He told the Nottingham Evening Post: “I was a bit disappointed with the second goal that went in so I was pleased to have saved the penalty and I think I owed them that one. Their second one has gone through a crowd of players, was a bit of a scuffed shot and I got a little bit on it, but I was disappointed it managed to go into the bottom corner. It is quite easy to make excuses but I still should have saved it.”
Camp's last outing against the Canaries was not a happy one - a 3-0 defeat with QPR at Carrow Road last April. Evening News
Milton Keynes Citizen/James Chard - I was told I wasn't going to play - Gallen
Veteran striker Kevin Gallen has revealed that boss Roberto Di Matteo told him he wasn't part of his plans with the Dons before being loaned out to lowly Luton Town.
The former QPR hitman joins the League Two strugglers until the end of December in order to get some game time.
And the 33-year-old, who has only started one league game for the Dons this season, hinted that his days at stadium:mk are likely to be over, as he searches for more regular football in the twilight of his career.
After starting in the Hatters' 2-1 victory over Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday Gallen said: "I was pretty much told by the manager that I wasn't going to play. And I'm not one to work all week and sit in the stands or on the bench.
"Mick Harford's given me the chance to come and play some football and I'm really pleased to be doing so."
However Di Matteo said after the 3-1 success at Hartlepool that Gallen had asked him to leave the club.
"He asked me a couple of weeks ago if he could go on the loan transfer list as he wasn't being involved as much as he would have wanted.
"Then Luton came in so we agreed to do the deal until the end of December."
But when asked if the striker would return to action after his loan he said: "It's difficult to say at the moment. Let's just see how he does with Luton and go from there..." Milton Keynes Citizen
BBC- St Aimie has talks with Wrexham
Barnet winger Kieron St Aimie is having further talks with Blue Square Premier side Wrexham.
The 19-year-old former Queens Park Rangers trainee is listed as available for transfer or loan.
St Aimie started this season in the first team but has only made four appearances for the League Two club since, all as a substitute.
Earlier this season the youngster spent a month on loan with Blue Square Premier side Grays Athletic.
Barnet signed St Aimie at the beginning of the year after he was released from Queens Park Rangers. BBC
