QPR Official Site - FAN'S MATCH RAISES OVER £5,000
- The inaugural Fan's Match at Loftus Road last weekend proved to be a roaring success, with over £5,000 raised for QPR in the Community Trust.
- R's supporters bid for their position in either Neil Warnock or Keith Curle's squad, with all the proceeds going towards our own charity.
- Chairman Ishan Saksena and Vice-Chairman Amit Bhatia were both in attendance, with the former's side - managed by Curle - triumphing 6-2 in an eight goal thriller.
- CEO Andy Evans, who oversaw the whole event, expressed his delight, commenting: "It was a tremendous occasion," he told www.qpr.co.uk
- "It always difficult to predict how well these type of events will work in their first year, but everyone went away with a smile on their face and just as importantly, we raised some good money for the Trust."
- Evans added: "Neil Warnock and Keith Curle were great with the players and really took to the occasion
- "It was a decent game, very well contested and all the ingredients are there to continue to make this event a success year after year.
- "I'd like to thank Dave Robinson, who with support from Stephen McCarthy, Conor Paterson and Scott Loughran from the Community Trust, helped to ensure the day was a glowing success." QPR
