Chris Kamara/Sky Sports - November 15 on John Gregory at QPRJohn Gregory has had a great start to life at Loftus Road.
It's four wins in nine games since he took over from Gary Waddock and he's got QPR playing attacking football as well.
They've let in a few but they have scored plenty in the last few weeks and Kenilworth is no easy place to go to get a result.
The win over Luton last weekend showed how John has got the Super Hoops playing with real spirit and belief. When you get off to a good start like Gregory has it boosts confidence and things take a turn for the better.
Ian Holloway had been doing a good at Loftus road but Paladini, the chairman, didn't rate him. Gary Waddock came in and things didn't work out for him.
John Gregory arrived with the instant respect of the players, having managed in the Premiership with Aston Villa, and he's been able to build on that from day one.
John had been out of the game for three years since leaving Derby County, but it was just a matter of time before he got back into football management.
He's always enjoyed being a manager from when he was at Wycombe, to Villa and even at Derby, where things didn't go so well for him.
Gianni Paladini gave him the opportunity to step back into the game and he jumped at the chance.
I think John just wanted to prove that he was still capable of operating at this level.
The QPR faithful had been split when Gregory's appointment was announced, but having taken them from rock bottom up to 18th they are sure to mellow towards him.
This is the results-based business and once you get off the ground running, like John has done, the fans will get behind him very quickly.
Look at Preston. They are second in the table after Paul Simpson endured a shaky start and all of a sudden things are running for him and it’s the same for John at QPR.
Once the fans see the kind of character like the team displayed during the game at Luton then they know the right man is in charge.
It will be interesting to see how they go against Cardiff this weekend. Will John take his team there and attack or will he set up with five in midfield with one up front and try and steal a result?
We shall see, but given their recent determined displays against Palace and Luton the trip to Ninian Park may not be as daunting as it might have been..
