The manager confirmed this afternoon that the contracts have been agreed and Murphy will be available to play from 1st January.
Malpas said, "I am delighted that we have got things sorted out and Danny has signed a two and a half year deal, particularly as we missed out in the summer.
"We have been able to sort things out in the last two or three days since the Irish season finished."
The deal is dependant upon a successful medical, but as Maurice added, "We don't envisage a problem as he has just completed a full season, it should just be about ticking the boxes."
Malpas is also pleased with the impact the signing will have on the squad, "It will allow us to move one or two about, Jim Paterson will be able to move forward again and we may be able to use Richie Foran up front.
"It will also be good for the squad in general as any signing brings a freshness to the squad."
24 year old Murphy has been voted into the PFAI Team of the Year for the second year in a row.
He was popular with the Cork fans who nicknamed the London born player "The Cockney Rebel".
He has previously played for West Ham, QPR, Swindon and Margate before crossing the Irish Sea.
