Adams is ready for Rangers' revenge
Andy Turner Coventry Evening Telegraph -Dec 15 2005

MICKY ADAMS insists Monday's trip to Queens Park Rangers is not a grudge match.
The Coventry City boss is playing down the recent history between the two sides, which started in the summer when Ian Holloway's men beat the Sky Blues in the final of the Copa de Ibiza Cup.
The Rs' over the top celebrations rubbed City players up the wrong way - a fact that they used to get pumped up for their league encounter at the Ricoh Arena when they got their revenge with a 3-0 thumping.
And to add fuel to the fire, Danny Shittu was red carded for a professional foul on Dele Adebola, prompting Holloway to remark afterwards that he thought the striker had 'gone down like a bit of a pansy'.
But Adams claims: "There is no bad blood between the two clubs, the players or the back room staff.
"Ian Holloway is a good friend of mine so we won't be kicking it off on the bench."
And as for the last encounter, he said: "There wasn't any friction between the players, not that I saw. It was just a competitive game that we won."
However, Adebola revealed after the August encounter that: "When they celebrated in Ibiza it riled a few of the lads and maybe a few words were exchanged before the game. It was not major, but it got us fired up."
And as for Monday's match, Claus Jorgensen believes both sides will have long memories, saying: "They will be looking to get one over us after what happened to them in the first game at the Ricoh Arena, so we have to be up for it.
"What happened in the pre-season game was a bit silly but maybe something like that sticks in the back of your mind when you are going into a challenge and want to make sure the other guy knows that you have been there."

Coventry Official Site - Andy Morrell

Andy Morrell may have had to bide his time this season, waiting patiently for a lengthy run in the team. But having started the last three games for Micky Adams' men - helping them to back-to-back wins against Plymouth and Millwall - the former Wrexham man is looking forward to the busy festive period.
And speaking on Sky Blues World Morrell says that having got some vital wins under-their-belt in a run that has seen Micky Adams' men play at the Ricoh on the last four Saturdays, City can now look forward to the upcoming games.
"I think we would have taken that before we started that little run so hopefully we can that on over the hectic Christmas period.
"The Norwich game I think was the start of it, especially having three games at home was a chance against teams that we were hoping to beat it was important to turn things around. The Norwich game - although we didn't win - I thought we still showed signs of definitely turning things around and then the two wins were a great boost for the whole squad."
He may prefer a place up-front for the Sky Blues but Morrell admits that he is happy to play anywhere to help the cause, whether that be leading the line or in a more unfamiliar midfield role. And with the trip to Loftus Road providing a reverse of the first fixture at the Ricoh back in August when City won 3-0, the 31-year-old knows it will be a tough game.
"I've been sort of right midfield, up front and then wide right of a five, I'm struggling to find myself anywhere. I'm just pleased to be in the team and playing and getting games and the performances of the team have turned out well while I've been playing. I don't know if that's anything to do with me but definitely it's great to play and be winning games.
"It was a good win at our first game at the Ricoh so it's going to be a really tough game. They are going to be up for it and we will have to match them battle-wise and then make sure that when we get it we can play our football and try and keep this run going."

Micky: Substitutions changed game
Micky Adams was understandably delighted with the Sky Blues' 3-1 win over Plymouth Argyle today - and hopes the team can build on the victory in future encounters.
Goals from Andy Morrell, Don Hutchison and Gary McSheffrey gave Coventry the three points, though it wasn't the best of starts for the home side, who conceded a goal and were forced to change all three players in the opening 30 minutes.
"We obviously ran into a few problems in the first half hour," said the Manager in the post-match press conference.
"We had the three substitutions and when we were down to ten men, we concededthe goal. It couldn't have been any worse really.
"The first shout with Matt Heath was that he was okay - but he obviously wasn't okay. It was definitely clear that Scowcroft and Marcus Hall had to come off. While we were preparing those two, we then got the shout that Sticksy had to come off as well.
"I think all three will be out for a while. Sticksy has a back injury, as well as problems in his rib area. Marcus Hall looks like he has torn his calf and Scowcroft has a neck injury.
"At that stage of the game I was toying with young Kevin Thornton but I looked at the bench and thought there was three experienced players there. In the present climate at the football club, I thought all three would be able to handle the situation we were in and would rally the troops and that's what they did."
Adams had nothing but praise for the performance of substitute Don Hutchison, who influenced much of the play through the midfield as well as netting City's second.
"We don't forget - myself, Inchy and Corky - because he tells us every day, that he was once a five-million pound player. Players who are bought for that sort of fee don't lose their quality. He might not be as pacy as he once was but what a footballer - and I think you've all seen it out there today."
The Sky Blues boss also conceded that the enforced substitutions helped change the game.
"After the substitutions, I think we grew. The crowd looked as though they had half-turned on us and we responded in the right way. You've got to go out there and be big men and get on with it.
"I think we've been doing alright and we've been so close to turning the draws we've had into wins. We've managed to get a victory now and hopefully that will take us forward.
"I thought the training this week was magnificent. There was an atmosphere about the place and once again, I think that was partly down to Don Hutchison."
