REMEMBERING THE 2005 AGM, A YEAR AGO THIS WEEK

QPR OFFICIAL SITE - July 7, 2005 - QPR's AGM

The QPR AGM for the financial year to May 2004 took place on Wednesday.
Director Kevin McGrath chaired the meeting which saw all resolutions passed and the panel answering questions from shareholders on a range of subjects.
The four (ordinary) resolutions were as follows:
1. To Approve the accounts for the year ended 31st May 2004.
2. To re-appoint Carlos Verri Dunga as a director.
3. To re-appoint Gualtiero Trucco as a director.
4. To re-appoint the Rothman Pantall as auditors.
All four resolutions were passed on a vote of hands with only one vote against in each instant.
It was also confirmed that Gianni Paladini has been appointed as a Director the club.
The accounts up to 2004 showed a loss of £4.3m and it was confirmed that, whilst the Club expects to show a loss to 2005 as well, the target remains to break even.
A selection of questions from the floor were answered on subjects such as the ABC loan, Chris Wright's shares and season ticket prices.
Ian Holloway was asked about the new players and spoke as follows:
"Simon Royce is a better goalkeeper than Chris Day in my opinion and I didn't want Chris to be second choice, he deserved more than that. Simon is Premiership quality.
"Ian Evatt will enable us to work the ball forward from the back, which is something we struggled with last season.
"Tommy Doherty is the ideal footballer - shy and polite off the pitch but he's a fighter on the pitch. If he goes in for a tackle, his man stays tackled!
"Stefan Moore would chase paper bags in the wind - and catch them. He'll be a great 'over the top' merchant for us.
"Dean Sturridge will almost be like a new signing for us. Lets not forget that three years ago he scored 21 goals in 22 games.
"I'm also very excited about Dominic Shimmin and Matthew Hislop. I thought they would be players for last season but I was a bit ahead of myself, but now we should be seeing some more of players like them."
The new training ground was discussed and the facilities have been greeted with enthusiasm by the Rangers Manager.
"The facilities are top notch and when our players see it they won't believe it. We've got the best pitches and gym we've ever had. Even the interior is Premier League.
"At the moment we're sharing everything with Wasps, but our training ground is our office and this one will be a pleasure to work in."
