Sunday Mirror - QPR star Akos Buzsaky confident Rangers are on the right track, as Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock ponders his transfer targets
- Akos Buzsaky is confident QPR will live up to their great expectations this season despite failing to clinch their first away win since January.
- Argyle were rescued by a bizarre injury-time own goal when Gary Sawyer’s long throw-in deflected off QPR defender Kaspars Gorkss.
- Former Argyle hero Buzsaky, 27, was one of several QPR players denied by stunning saves from Romain Larrieu as the visitors failed to add to Heidar Helguson’s 43rd-minute close range header.
- Hungary international midfielder Buzsaky, who left Argyle for QPR two years ago, forced Larrieu into fine saves with two first half free-kicks and then set up chances for Adel Taarabt and Wayne Routledge.
- After having to settle for a second draw of the season, Buzsaky insists better is to come from big-spending Rangers and promises no repeat of last season’s poor away form.
- He said: "Expectations are high, but of course we are better this season. We have signed some good players but the main thing is that now the squad has been together for a year and a half and we know each other better.
- "It’s too early to say anything about promotion, but that’s the aim this season. Or the play-offs at least.
- "I don’t think there is a psychological problem about winning away and you could see that from our performance. It’s a new season so last season’s record doesn’t matter. It’s a new beginning.
- "We can play better than that and we created more chances than Plymouth. It’s going to come. We are going to put everything right. I’m not worried about that.
- "We should have won against Blackpool last week and then we should have won against Plymouth. We just need our luck to change.
- "It was disappointing to be winning for so long and then they scored right at the end. We were very close to winning the game.
- "Romain played very well and he did what goalkeepers are supposed to do – stop goals from being scored. I know how good he is from my time at Plymouth."
- QPR boss Jim Magilton expects his side to be boosted by the possible debut of £3.5million signing Alejandro Faurlin in Tuesday's game at Bristol City.
- Magilton said: "He’s very close to coming back. He had a thigh strain so we didn’t want to bring him back too early, but he will be around the squad for Tuesday’s game...."
