ESPN PFA Fans' Player of the Month: March '11 winners
David Luiz scoops top honour – Jonny Howson, Peter Clarke and Alex Cisak claim divisional prizes - By Givemefootball .com April 04, 2011
Chelsea defender David Luiz has been named the ESPN PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for March in the Barclays Premier League after a string of outstanding displays for the Blues.
The 23-year-old, who arrived at Chelsea from Benfica in January for a fee of £22 million, has already produced a number of man-of-the-match performances for the champions, and scored important goals in the wins against Manchester United and City in the month.
“He is a fantastic defender with the ball. He has to improve without the ball and he has to be more focussed defensively but obviously he will improve,” said manager Carlo Ancelotti on the improving player.
“He will be the future of Chelsea. In our kind of football it is important for the centre-backs to start to play from the back with clean passes.”

CHAMPIONSHIP
Leeds United midfielder Jonathan Howson is enjoying an outstanding season and his consistent displays have led to the 22-year-old being named the ESPN PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month in March.
Howson scored an impressive brace in the 5-2 victory against Doncaster at the start of March, while on Saturday he took his seasonal tally to 11 after netting the opener against Nottingham Forest in a 4-1 win.
“There will be twists and turns along the way. We just have to focus on our own jobs,” said the midfielder in reference to the race for automatic promotion.

LEAGUE ONE
Huddersfield defender Peter Clarke was named the ESPN PFA Fans’ League One Player of the Month in March after a string of imperious displays by the 29-year-old.
The Terriers conceded just two goals in seven matches during the month, while inspirational skipper Clarke also scored the winner at Brentford midway through March.
“All the lads are making a massive contribution. Again the defenders were magnificent. Five clean sheets in a row is something to be proud of. Peter Clarke and Jamie McCombe have been fantastic,” said an ecstatic Lee Clark.

League Two
Accrington Stanley’s promising young goalkeeper Alex Cisak has won the ESPN PFA Fans’ League Two Player of the Month award for March.
Cisak graduated through the youth system at Leicester City, but signed for Stanley last summer after being released by the Foxes.
Last month Cisak helped Accrington to four victories and three draws during their eight league games, while he kept clean sheets in five of those matches.
