With pre-season training in full swing and the first game under their belts, how do the new look coaching staff think things are going?....
Gary Waddock on performance:
"The Aldershot game was a good fitness test for us and I was pleased with the work-rate of the players. It gave a lot of them the chance to get 45 minutes of action under their belt.
"The result of the game wasn't important to us. We need to make sure we are at our peak when we play Burnley in the first game of the season, that's when results start to matter. Between now and then it is simply a case of building up to that opening fixture."
Alan McDonald on formations:
"It was difficult to take a great deal away from the Aldershot game as we played two different teams either half."We tried a different formation to what we usually play. We hadn't done too much work with it but I felt that it certainly worked well in the first half.
"The changes in the second half saw it not working as well but I was still really pleased with the level of performance."But on the whole, this was more of a chance just to look at the young lads and those on trial, that was the main objective."
Justin Skinner on preparation and approach:
"The preparation for the first game is always a little bit sketchy, we went into the game not really working on set pieces, that wasn't our focus, that will come later."It's always a bit of a trial getting the logistics right when you want to field two different teams, but it went well overall I think."Behind the scenes it's going very well. Mark has been working hard on their fitness and this will be a hard week for them. Their attitude has been first class, from the young kids to the experienced pros.

"They have been taking on new ideas that we've all put in. There hasn't been any moaning, we haven't given them a chance. It's been quality rather than quantity and has all been ball and game related."The staff side of things has become very organised, we say what we'll do, do it, then have a de-brief at the end of the day."We set out our session plans, get together and everyone is aware of what their jobs are for the day. All the training is set out, we don't wonder what we're going to do off the cuff. Prav Mathema also has an input, it's very much a joint effort."The boys have reacted to that because it's so well planned. They all have ice baths now after training which was new to them. They are weighed in and out, every detail is looked into and we've addressed a lot of aspects."We have a meeting every Monday morning with the staff to outline what went right and wrong the previous week. Today we spoke about how the game went and what could have gone better."
Tony Roberts on helping to achieve personal goals:
"Over the last ten days I've been getting the keepers back into their prevous good habits and routines. Paul Jones was back late due to international duty and Jake Cole was ill, so I've had a good chance to work one on one with Sean Thomas."I knew he was going to play the full 90 minutes on Saturday so we went over absolutely everything."Jake and Jonah are playing catch up now, so today the three of us worked on the technical side of goalkeeping - catching, distribution kicking and so on.
"It's good to get a structure for them like I do with the Academy keepers, there's a lot of organisation that's going into it."I have six keepers in all, from spring chickens to full internationals. Some are more agile and I need to accommodate all of them. I will do a lot more 'reps' with the younger ones because they can handle it and because they need more practise."You don't need to get Jonah in the gym whereas some of my youngsters may need more upper body strength. With each keeper they need a different plan."
Mark Barry on fitness:
It's a steady progression towards the Burnley game. For the match on Saturday against Aldershot, we were probably at 50% fitness-wise."By the time of the next match, we will be around the 75% mark. For the opening fixture of the season the players will be at 100%, which is our main objective.
"You can train as much as you like but, obviously enough, to be match-fit you need to play matches, so these games are imperative if the players are going to get used to the speed of the game, and so on. "At this stage, the fitness level of the lads is spot-on. We're making sure that we don't peak too early because if we reach 100% a week before the Burnley game, there's only one way to go - and that's down. I've got to make sure that doesn't happen." July 17, 2006 - BBC QPR hold out for £3m Shittu offer
"QPR chairman Gianni Paladini insists his club will not accept less than £3m for defender Danny Shittu. Watford have had a bid for the giant centre-back rejected, while Leeds and West Brom have shown an interest. Shittu, 25, has a clause in his contract allowing him to speak to any club that offers £3m for him.
And Paladini said: "There is no way whatsoever we will accept any less than that. There is absolutely no chance he will leave for less. No chance at all."
"I don't want him to go," Paladini added. "We're building a team and brought in Damion Stewart to play alongside him and we think those two will be a good combination. "I think he is worth more than £3m but because of the contract, there's nothing I can do if somebody offers us that. "Joleon Lescott went for £5m and Claude Davis went for £2.5m. Danny is a better defender than both of them.

LEE Cook has revealed he would have thought twice about extending his QPR contract if the club had overlooked Gary Waddock for the manager's job. Cook, whose previous contract had a year left to run, signed an improved deal that will keep him at Loftus Road until 2009 last month. But the winger,....was anxious to know who he would be playing under before penning his signature. Cook's place in the side rarely seemed assured under former Rs manager Ian Holloway, who often preferred to deploy Martin Rowlands or skipper Kevin Gallen on the left of midfield....
"I wouldn't have signed unless I knew who the manager was and I wanted to know that it was Gary."Before I signed my contract I phoned Gary on holiday just to make sure everything was going to be sorted out with him first."I feel I've played decent football under him and so have the rest of the team. He's a great coach and I hope he's going to be successful as QPR manager."
I always wanted to sign - they made me the offer just before I went on holiday and I left it to my agent to sort out all the bits and bobs." Holloway Waits For Kevin Gallen's Decision

"...Meanwhile, Holloway is awaiting the outcome of talks with striker Kevin Gallen over a possible move to Argyle.
Gallen, 31, has been offered a one-year contract by Holloway after a four-month loan spell with the Pilgrims at the end of last season.
The striker, who was released by Queens Park Rangers in May, has recently returned from a holiday in the United States.
Holloway said: "It's down to him to decide, but I think he covers all sorts of areas.
"I think he gives us something that, possibly, we might not have. If it happens then great, if not we will move on.
"I'm a great admirer of his, and I think I'm someone he feels he can learn a bit from."
Gallen is thought to have other offers on the table which are closer to his home in London, and that could be a factor.
Holloway said: "Kevin's brothers have both had to retire through bad backs and, obviously, with our exceptional amount of travelling, we have had to be careful with his situation.
"All I do know is that he trusts how I train people, and he trusts that I can get him fit."
Holloway continued: "I would only give him a short-term contract because of his age. It's whether that suits him and his family situation.

Striker Kevin Gallen is ready to make a decision on his future after returning from a holiday in the United States.Plymouth Argyle have offered Gallen, 31, a one-year contract following his four-month loan spell at Home Park at the end of last season. Gallen was released by Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers in May and Argyle manager Ian Holloway is keen to secure his signature.
However, it is thought Gallen, who can also play in a midfield role, has other offers on the table.
Argyle chief executive Michael Dunford told Herald Sport: "We have had initial talks with the player and his representative.
"He (Gallen) has only just got back from holiday and I wouldn't anticipate hearing anything more until the middle of the week."
Gallen made a total of 16 appearances for Argyle last season, including nine starts, and scored two goals....
Holloway has dismissed speculation linking him with Watford centre-back Clarke Carlisle, who has previously played for him at Queens Park Rangers.
One national newspaper reported at the weekend that the Pilgrims were lining up a £100,000 move for Carlisle.
But Holloway said: "It's absolute rubbish. As far as I'm concerned I have got some decent centre-halves. His name hasn't even popped into my thoughts at all."

More talkative on Scotland's chances, or lack of them, was Dominic Iorfa, board member of the Nigerian Football Association and former Royal Antwerp, QPR, Galatasaray and, for three games in 1996, Falkirk player.
"We'll be playing to beat them by at least four. Anything less than three would be disappointing," said Iorfa. "Scotland will find it very difficult to beat Nigeria. They don't look strong enough mentally or physically. Scottish teams always lack something in competition play, from the Under-20s to the senior team."
When asked if the Nigerians knew any of the Scottish players Iorfa was dismissive. He said: "In modern football it doesn't matter. After five or ten minutes on the pitch you can see what they are doing and adapt. We are one of the favourites. There is no point in studying Scotland or Japan, we'll take each game as it comes. We are looking to progress from the group and go to at least the final four - it doesn't matter who we face."
Such bombast could normally be written off as overblown pride, but Iorfa knows of which he speaks having won 25 caps for Nigeria between 1986 and 1996, including being a member of the 1988 Nigerian Olympic squad.
Scotland will need to get over Sunday's disappointment quickly if they are to pose a challenge to one of the most fancied teams in the tournament...

The club revealed yesterday they have attracted "significant investment" that will see a new consortium take over within the next eight weeks, and "disperse forever the dark financial clouds" hanging over the County Ground.

Swindon Town Supporters' Trust chairman Paul Davis believes that a large section of the club's fans remain sceptical after the current board revealed that a new consortium had entered formal talks over a takeover.
Swindon director Bob Holt yesterday claimed that the club could have new owners within two months after revealing that a fresh set of potential investors were preparing to examine the Robins' current financial state with a view to completing a deal within the next eight weeks.
But Davis, who spoke to a number of supporters yesterday, believes the club will have to reveal further details of the group's identity and their intentions before fans warm to the idea.
Davis said: "We have seen nothing concrete and the statement raises more questions than it answers.
"The fans want to know more about who this new consortium is, what level of funds they are going to commit and what their long-term intentions are."
Davis also insisted that the Bill Power-backed Fans Consortium would continue to pursue their interest in their bid to buy the club."The Fans' Consortium position remains as it was," Davis added."Due diligence is just the start of the formal talks process and there is no guarantees that any discussions will be concluded successfully..." John Gregory's Championship side make the trip up from London to give Gary Peters side a tough test as both prepare for the upcoming season.

He loathed it as a player, but he's relishing it as a Coach! Recently appointed First Team Coach Mick Harford is champing at the bit for pre-season training to begin.
Harford, who joined the R's last month from Colchester United, can't wait to put the R's first team squad through their paces when pre-season training gets underway at the Harlington Training Complex on Wednesday morning.
"It's the time of the season every player dreads,'' admitted Harford, in an exclusive interview with www.qpr.co.uk.
"Obviously it's a very exciting time for me. I'm at a new Club, with a new set of players and I can't wait to get started.''
After spending the last few days watching the Academy players being put through their paces by new Youth department duo Steve Brown and Keith Ryan, Harford is looking forward to the return of the senior stars on Wednesday morning.

A striker himself in his hey-day as a professional, Harford is particularly looking forward to working with the R's front-men, including new signing Danny Nardiello.

He loathed it as a player, but he's relishing it as a Coach! Recently appointed First Team Coach Mick Harford is champing at the bit for pre-season training to begin.
Harford, who joined the R's last month from Colchester United, can't wait to put the R's first team squad through their paces when pre-season training gets underway at the Harlington Training Complex on Wednesday morning.
"It's the time of the season every player dreads,'' admitted Harford, in an exclusive interview with www.qpr.co.uk.
"Obviously it's a very exciting time for me. I'm at a new Club, with a new set of players and I can't wait to get started.''
After spending the last few days watching the Academy players being put through their paces by new Youth department duo Steve Brown and Keith Ryan, Harford is looking forward to the return of the senior stars on Wednesday morning.

I was let down at Derby and Sheffield Utd by people I respected and I couldn't get in at Chelsea because the manager (Gullit) was a twat. Chelsea is a wannabe big club. It's not a players club, it's about how much, one the players can make in as little time as possible and that's still true now. They treated players like myself really badly. When they won the FA Cup in 1997 only about four players spent any time at a function arrange for the players. The rest of them just disappeared into the West End leaving me Sparky, Denis Wise, Steve Clark and Kevin Hitchcock at the do.
Chelsea didn't even get me a ticket for the 1997 FA Cup Final when I played for them. I had to sneak on the players coach with my team mates and then ask an official from the FA if he could sort me out a seat to watch the game. I felt so embarrassed. "As a kid I played for a junior team in Dagenham, Essex and we went unbeaten for seven years. I have always wanted to be a footballer and I virtually packed in school when I signed schoolboy forms for Fulham when I was fourteen. I had actually been affiliated at Fulham from the age of twelve and I left for QPR when I was 23 after I had played 180 games for them. I made my debut for Fulham when I was 16 years old against Reading who had a front line whose average height was six foot one. It was scary but my pace got me out of trouble.
I spent four seasons at QPR. I thought they they were a massive club because they had six people working in the office - four more than at Fulham - and because there was people holding the door open for you when you went to play a game. As far I was concerned, QPR were the biggest club in the world. I really enjoyed my time at QPR, playing with Terry Fennick, Gary Bannister, John Byrne and that's where I made my name.
What was it like coming to Old Trafford as an away player with QPR?
Scary. I was always given the job of man marking Sparky and I always did alright. Sparky was not the tallest player in the world but he's well built. I knew that I couldn't match him strength wise so I'd let him get the ball and I'd then come into him. I think I was noticed by United because I did well at Old Trafford.
How did you feel when United came in for you?
I was playing for England and Bryan Robson gave me a bollocking because I'd signed a new contract for QPR but I wasn't to know that United, or anyone else, were interested in me so when was offered a little bit more money I took it. After the 1990 World Cup I was told that Everton, Arsenal, Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday were interested in me. I didn't want to leave London and the chance to sign for Tottenham, my childhood team, for a lot more money than I was getting at QPR - and later for United for that matter - really appealed. I was about to sign when United came in at the last minute. I told Terry Venables that I was going to Manchester just to see what they had to say. He said: "If you go to Man United you won't come back and sign for me." I said: "No, I'm cleverer than that. I just see what they have to say and I'll come back and sign for you." I never did. ....

'This is fantastic news for all the loyal supporters of Swindon Town Football Club. It has been difficult to secure and attract new investment particularly when there has been such negative press in the local media,' said Holt, adding that the New Consortium 'have demonstrated that, with out any shadow of doubt, they have, in addition to their knowledge of football, the financial status to support the Football Club in its endeavours to gain promotion to The Championship.'
The New Consortium has the full support of Paul Sturrock and his management team, and will bring to the Football Club an added dimension that will both secure and enhance the standard of football at The County Ground.'
'It has been a long time coming but the current Board feel they have at last found the solution that will disperse forever the 'Dark Financial Clouds' that have for too long hung over The County Ground,' said Holt.

The club had opened negotiations with Rangers over Doherty, who spent most of last season on loan at Adams Park. However, the player was suddenly taken ill while on holiday and needed an emergency operation to remove his appendix.

Striker Kevin Gallen is ready to make a decision on his future after returning from a holiday in the United States.Plymouth Argyle have offered Gallen, 31, a one-year contract following his four-month loan spell at Home Park at the end of last season. Gallen was released by Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers in May and Argyle manager Ian Holloway is keen to secure his signature.
However, it is thought Gallen, who can also play in a midfield role, has other offers on the table.
Argyle chief executive Michael Dunford told Herald Sport: "We have had initial talks with the player and his representative.
"He (Gallen) has only just got back from holiday and I wouldn't anticipate hearing anything more until the middle of the week."
Gallen made a total of 16 appearances for Argyle last season, including nine starts, and scored two goals....
Holloway has dismissed speculation linking him with Watford centre-back Clarke Carlisle, who has previously played for him at Queens Park Rangers.
One national newspaper reported at the weekend that the Pilgrims were lining up a £100,000 move for Carlisle.
But Holloway said: "It's absolute rubbish. As far as I'm concerned I have got some decent centre-halves. His name hasn't even popped into my thoughts at all."

Good afternoon,
When it first happened and I first got here - of course it was a little bit daunting. When I went to the ground and saw all these staff working there and I came to the training ground and I saw all the staff there - there was the immediate feeling of: 'Crikey, this is a big jump.' But since then I have had time to work everyday.
I have changed the training ground round completely while I have been away. I have come back this morning, straight from Heathrow Airport and I haven't been home - I have just come straight here. To see the training ground this morning when I got here was absolutely fantastic. The team at the training ground who have done it all have worked to get it how I wanted it - specifically how I wanted it - down to the details that I have asked for. It is all in place. That for me was a very good sign.
It is just how I wanted it. The flowers, the colour of them, perfect. The attention to detail - just how I asked it all to be done. There is no longer a restaurant here - there is now an operating theatre, which has white boards, smart boards, a computer system set into it, DVDs and an analysis computer system. It is no longer a lounge, restaurant, reading the paper area. It is exactly as it is - an operating theatre. People raise their eyebrows and said 'What the hell is that,' but our planning and preparation for the next game will all come from that room. And what we learn from the previous game will all be done in that room - the good things and the bad things. It is a fantastic facility.
The reason why we have got a barrier at the entrance to the training ground is because I believe that 48 hours before a game the training ground needs to be private. Our focus and attention has to be on us looking after the players - to try to get the team to win. There will be no other outside distraction. We will have a press conference first thing on a Thursday morning, but apart from that there is nobody coming to this training ground. It is private. This is my workplace. And that is when we do our work on Thursday and Friday to get them to win matches.
The training ground is in absolutely fantastic condition thanks to the groundsman and the groundstaff - it is superb. It is all set and it is all ready for the players to return.
While I have been away I have been on the phone twice a day to Tim Davies. There was a big time difference, but actually it fitted in perfectly because I could speak to him from lunchtime where I was, which meant it was breakfast time here for Tim, and then at bedtime for me I could speak to Tim and it was his finishing work time. So I have spoken to him twice a day. I have had endless telephone calls - so much so that my phone was cut off by the phone company three days ago because I have overused it and the credit has run out on my mobile. That has never ever happened to me before. So it is going to be good fun in the Allen household when my wife's mobile telephone bill comes through next month and she will see that for the last three day I have been using her mobile phone! That will be a day to make sure I don't go home.
I am chuffed to bits today that James Wesolowski has signed a contract extension. He has energy, he has enthusiasm, and I am really looking forward to working with him and helping him to get in to the full Australian squad.
This afternoon I had a good meeting with all the team at the training ground. I tried to explain to them how important each and every person is to me. There was a good story from back in 1964 when a business executive was invited to the NASA Space Centre in Florida. When he jumped out of his car he saw an elderly chap sweeping rubbish in the car park who asked him if he needed any assistance on which way to go. The business executive knew the way to go, thanked him for his offer and politely asked him what it was he did at the NASA Space Centre. 'I am in a team to help put a man on the moon,' was his reply.
Later on in the week I will be meeting the team that are working at the stadium to introduce the new staff and try to give them a vision for the future as I see it.
This morning I had the pleasure of meeting six young men who had just left school and started their first day at work. Each one had the task of standing on their chair for one minute to talk about himself and also take a few questions. The funniest moment was when I asked a young man, who will remain nameless, who his favourite bird was. And he replied, after a great deal of thought, a budgie! It certainly broke the ice.
I informed all the scholars that they will now be changing not in the main building, but over in the scruffy huts. For my mind they will have to earn the right to come to work and change in this main building.
By the way, for supporters wishing to visit - I should hope so to - you will have to respect the areas that we train on. Everyone that comes will be made welcome.

Stuart McCall has made his first signing bringing in Drogheda-born striker Barry Conlon, who was recently released by Mansfield Town, one a one-year contract.

The training ground is in absolutely fantastic condition thanks to the groundsman and the groundstaff - it is superb. It is all set and it is all ready for the players to return.
While I have been away I have been on the phone twice a day to Tim Davies. There was a big time difference, but actually it fitted in perfectly because I could speak to him from lunchtime where I was, which meant it was breakfast time here for Tim, and then at bedtime for me I could speak to Tim and it was his finishing work time. So I have spoken to him twice a day. I have had endless telephone calls - so much so that my phone was cut off by the phone company three days ago because I have overused it and the credit has run out on my mobile. That has never ever happened to me before. So it is going to be good fun in the Allen household when my wife's mobile telephone bill comes through next month and she will see that for the last three day I have been using her mobile phone! That will be a day to make sure I don't go home.
I am chuffed to bits today that James Wesolowski has signed a contract extension. He has energy, he has enthusiasm, and I am really looking forward to working with him and helping him to get in to the full Australian squad.
This afternoon I had a good meeting with all the team at the training ground. I tried to explain to them how important each and every person is to me. There was a good story from back in 1964 when a business executive was invited to the NASA Space Centre in Florida. When he jumped out of his car he saw an elderly chap sweeping rubbish in the car park who asked him if he needed any assistance on which way to go. The business executive knew the way to go, thanked him for his offer and politely asked him what it was he did at the NASA Space Centre. 'I am in a team to help put a man on the moon,' was his reply.
Later on in the week I will be meeting the team that are working at the stadium to introduce the new staff and try to give them a vision for the future as I see it.
This morning I had the pleasure of meeting six young men who had just left school and started their first day at work. Each one had the task of standing on their chair for one minute to talk about himself and also take a few questions. The funniest moment was when I asked a young man, who will remain nameless, who his favourite bird was. And he replied, after a great deal of thought, a budgie! It certainly broke the ice.
I informed all the scholars that they will now be changing not in the main building, but over in the scruffy huts. For my mind they will have to earn the right to come to work and change in this main building.
By the way, for supporters wishing to visit - I should hope so to - you will have to respect the areas that we train on. Everyone that comes will be made welcome.

Stuart McCall has made his first signing bringing in Drogheda-born striker Barry Conlon, who was recently released by Mansfield Town, one a one-year contract.
The 28-year old has played for many clubs during his career starting out at Queens Park Rangers where he signed his first contract on the 1 August 1996.

The 20-year-old midfielder saw his dream of playing League football shattered when told by QPR he was not good enough to make the grade at Loftus Road.
But he is now at Mansfield and, after returning to fitness, aiming to build on the impressive form which last season saw the League Two club reject a bid for him from Championship side Wolves.
Coke was also linked to several clubs, including Premiership newcomers Watord, as he was rewarded for the attitude and focus that helped him resurface back into the Football League after falling into the depths of the non-league game.
"I was in pieces after being let go by QPR," Coke told BBC Sport.
"I had a meeting, along with my mum and dad, where QPR's then assistant Tim Breaker and their current manager Gary Waddock told me they weren't going to keep me on.
"It did affect me. I was really upset but you can't let that get to you because it can be bad for your football. You just have to work hard to try and get back up.
I've always wanted to play football so I had to work hard and try and come back - I never thought of giving up

"Marcus Bignot has revealed he will not rest on his laurels after landing a one year contract - he is determined to extend his stay for another couple of seasons at least.
It is all a far cry from a year ago when the 32-year-old fullback was placed on the transfer list and out of favour when Gary Waddock was in charge.
But the way he knuckled down to fight for his place impressed new boss John Gregory and now he is seen as an integral part of QPR's next chapter.
"I really feel in the next couple of years, there are good times ahead and I want to be around for that," Bignot told the Gazette after reporting back to Loftus Road this week for fitness tests.
"I'm confident I can deliver even more than I delivered last year, and if I do, the gaffer's one of those guys who will reward you if you do the business.
"He did that last season and the same applies this time. If I do the business, I will get rewarded again, there's no doubt about it and I'm confident I'll be around for a couple more seasons at least."
Bignot looks back positively at his experience over the past 12 months and believes he is reaping the rewards for not giving in and looking for another club when it appeared he was surplus to requirements.
"Going into last season, I was on the transfer list and I wasn't in the ex-manager's plans," he explained.
"But I made the decision then that instead of enjoying the summer, I was going to work even harder and I had my own mini close-season programme.
"I made sure I was flying when I came back and I was one of the fittest in the squad.
"I had 12 months of my contract to run and said then I didn't want to go anywhere else and was confident of being here beyond that year and I'm glad to say I was proved right.
"I look back on that close season now when everyone else was on their holiday and me doing my own pre-season and realise I got my reward in the end."
Bignot continued: "The ex manager [Gary Waddock] had a new contract and at first I couldn't see light at the end of the tunnel, but I believed in my ability and always believed I was good enough.
"It was obviously a blessing for me John Gregory coming in."When he did take over, I was part of the old regime, an Ian Holloway signing and I know that when new managers come in they want to bring in their own players, so signing this new contract was a massive boost for me, because it meant I was now a John Gregory signing.
"It's no longer a case of being simply a player he inherited.
"He could have let me go, but he made me captain last year and this new contract has given me huge confidence."
The defender added: "I can't wait for the new season to start because I honestly believe good times lie ahead.
"Fans shouldn't worry about us having fewer players around this season. Let's be realistic, you could have picked three teams from the squad we had before.
"There's not a lot of sense bringing in truckloads of players to the club.
"We can all see the type of player the gaffer's brought in - players like Adam Bolder and Danny Cullip. They are players who will improve us.
"We've got a manger who's not going to waste the club's money and who's not going to sign every Tom, Dick and Harry.
"We are not blessed with money and it won't be like the old regime where having too many players created a burden on the club in terms of wages. I'm encouraged by the signings he has made.
"We would have been relegated if the change hadn't been made by the chairman last year. He was quick to rectify the situation last year when things weren't working out by bringing in a new manager and a lot of credit's got to go to him for that."
Bignot was happy to report that all the players passed the weight targets set by the club at the end of last season and everyone reporting back for duty sailed through the fitness tests with flying colours.
"We've been checked out to make sure we haven't eaten too much or drunk too much over the summer and everyone's OK and can't wait for pre-season next week," bignot said.

CHAIRMAN Gianni Paladini insists QPR will not be bought on the cheap despite the club's Italian owners being willing to relinquish control.
Paladini last week declared that he and major shareholder Antonio Caliendo would seek only the money they paid for their shares when they acquired stakes in the club.
That would mean around £650,000 would be required to purchase Paladini's shareholding and around £4million to take overall control of the club.
But Paladini has warned that simply writing out a cheque for those amounts will not be enough.
He said: "The offer is there for anyone who can take the club forward. I will only want what I paid for my shares.

A number of parties have expressed an interest including an Israeli group fronted by former Tottenham and Liverpool striker Ronnie Rosenthal, which has failed to prove it has sufficient funds.
And a consortium has this week been discussing approaching the club with an offer.
But at this stage the most likely addition to the Rangers board is Bill Power - the former chairman who was booted out by Paladini and Caliendo in 2005 following a bitter battle for control.
Power has invested in Swindon since his public fall-out with Paladini and has been involved in a takeover bid for the Wilt-shire club.
But the pair have recently rebuilt bridges and Paladini believes Power may return.
"The door is open for Bill," said Paladini.
"I don't think he wants to buy the club but the opportunity is there, if he wants it, to come back and work with me."
Bar an angry exchange with disenchanted club president Harold Winton and a couple of questions about ongoing financial concerns, Paladini and other directors were given a fairly easy ride at last week's annual general meeting of shareholders.

TRUSTSTFC chairman Paul Davis has challenged Swindon Town officials to reveal their hand as the clock ticks down towards the deadline for the CVA payment.....
Meanwhile, the Swindon Advertiser understands a new investor has shown an interest in the club, in addition to the previous mystery investor' and the Bill Power-led consortium bid.
But as the club continues negotiations behind closed doors, Davis wants reassurance the board can meet their financial obligations....
Davis would also like to see the club re-open negotiations with Bill Power about a possible takeover.
The two parties are currently at loggerheads over the £1.2 million which Power claims was a loan, with a court battle the likely outcome.
Power told the Swindon Advertiser: "I'm still open to persuasion, but at this moment it looks like we're going down the legal route.
"I've spoken to a QC and the documents are currently being prepared.
"I would still love to take over the club with the consortium. If the club were willing to offer the deal we first discussed I would sign it right now.
"But all of a sudden there was a totally different deal on the table. I will not sign that now and I will never sign it."
Power also dismissed claims he was about to launch a takeover bid at Queen's Park Rangers, where he was chairman for two years between 2003 and 2005.
He said: "I still have a lot of friends at QPR and I have dinner with the chairman quite regularly, but I still want to take over at Swindon.
"I've had nothing but kindness from the Swindon fans. I don't want to see their club go into administration again because I know how deeply that will affect them.
"I know what I agreed to, and the difference between that and what the board want me to sign is like chalk and cheese.

“There is a financial issue here and we are discussing it,” explained President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.
The defender remains their number one choice to lead the side back into Serie A, although these complications have forced them to look at other alternatives.
Fabio Cannavaro’s return from Real Madrid is a possibility, albeit with the need for the World and European Player of the Year to take a pay cut.
Another candidate is Porto man Pepe, who would arrive in exchange for Fabrizio Miccoli.
There are reports that the club is already looking to the future, offering £1.3m to Ajax just to have an option on hitman Huntelaar.
Cobolli Gigli led a five-hour Board of Directors meeting in Turin today and was confident that David Trezeguet’s decision to renew his contract until 2011 would see everything fall in to place.
“This renewal shows that we know how to resolve situations,” smiled the Bianconeri President.
“From Gianluigi Buffon’s choice onwards, a decision that proved crucial in convincing the other champions to stick with the Juventus project, I think we are beginning to see a really great squad.”
With Pavel Nedved considering an early retirement and Mauro Camoranesi initially demanding a transfer, Juve could be about to ensure all their top stars stay for the return to Serie A.
Trezeguet’s former agent Antonio Caliendo suggests that one of the key men behind convincing the Frenchman was Roberto Bettega – who will leave the club this summer.
“Bettega had a very important role, in fact he was decisive,” Caliendo told ‘Radio Radio.’ “I was a mediator, despite the fact I am no longer David’s agent, but together we concluded the negotiations.”
Bettega was the last remaining figure from the Triade along with Luciano Moggi and Antonio Giraudo, but his consultancy contract expires on June 30 and will not be renewed.
“It was the best possible end to his Juventus career, as this deal was a masterpiece. David was very happy, but Claudio Ranieri was even more elated.”
Caliendo also revealed a curious backstory to Trezeguet’s often tumultuous time in Turin.
“In 2004 he had already signed for Barcelona because he no longer wanted to work with certain figures who aren’t here anymore. Fabio Capello convinced him to stay. The first thing players need is to hear the respect of the Coach and David heard that from Ranieri.”

David Trezeguet's ex-agent revealed that Roberto Bettega was the man behind the Frenchman's contract extension at Juventus.
Antonio Caliendo, a mediator in the negotiations to renew the contract of David Trezeguet at Juventus, provided some interesting details regarding this transfer saga
"The primary protagonist in Trezeguet's renewal is Roberto Bettega," he said. "I am no longer David's agent, I was just a mediator.
"Bettega could not have ended his career [as Juve manager] better, because it was thanks to him and sporting director Alessio Secco that we were able to complete the negotiations.
"If it were up to me, Bettega would have never left.
"He is morally irreprehensible, highly knowledgeable on the football world and highly experienced."

Hawks HQ released news this afternoon that amid much speculation over possible departures, both Jamie Collins and Richard Pacquette have signed new contracts that will see them playing football again at Westleigh Park next season.
Collins’ last season with the Hawks was blighted by injury, but the midfielder still managed to make 37 appearances, taking his total to 81 since joining the Hawks in February 2005. Pacquette meanwhile, joining the Hawks almost exactly a year later, became a regular strike partner for Rocky Baptiste in his first full season last term, netting an impressive 15 goals. News

Richard joined the Hawks in March 2006 from Ryman Premier side Worthing, with whom he had spent the season to that point, and despite only being 23 he already has significant experience at all levels of football. He started life as a trainee at Queens Park Rangers in August 1999, making 24 starting and 23 substitute appearances and scoring seven goals over four seasons before being released in September 2004. While at QPR he gained loan experience at Stevenage Borough, Dagenham and Redbridge and Mansfield Town, before going on to MK Dons, Brentford and Farnborough. In January 2005 he returned to Stevenage before moving on to St Albans City for a single appearance against Basingstoke in February 2005.

Trezeguet’s former agent Antonio Caliendo suggests that one of the key men behind convincing the Frenchman was Roberto Bettega – who will leave the club this summer.
“Bettega had a very important role, in fact he was decisive,” Caliendo told ‘Radio Radio.’ “I was a mediator, despite the fact I am no longer David’s agent, but together we concluded the negotiations.”
Bettega was the last remaining figure from the Triade along with Luciano Moggi and Antonio Giraudo, but his consultancy contract expires on June 30 and will not be renewed.
“It was the best possible end to his Juventus career, as this deal was a masterpiece. David was very happy, but Claudio Ranieri was even more elated.”
Caliendo also revealed a curious backstory to Trezeguet’s often tumultuous time in Turin.
“In 2004 he had already signed for Barcelona because he no longer wanted to work with certain figures who aren’t here anymore. Fabio Capello convinced him to stay. The first thing players need is to hear the respect of the Coach and David heard that from Ranieri.”

Hawks HQ released news this afternoon that amid much speculation over possible departures, both Jamie Collins and Richard Pacquette have signed new contracts that will see them playing football again at Westleigh Park next season.
Collins’ last season with the Hawks was blighted by injury, but the midfielder still managed to make 37 appearances, taking his total to 81 since joining the Hawks in February 2005. Pacquette meanwhile, joining the Hawks almost exactly a year later, became a regular strike partner for Rocky Baptiste in his first full season last term, netting an impressive 15 goals. News

The pair will oversee the R's Youth department and be responsible for the Club's Under-18 and Under-16 squads, as well as the Centre of Excellence.
Brown, 40, and Ryan, 37, were released by the Chairboys as a result of a cost-cutting exercise earlier this month.
Gregory welcomed the duo's arrival,..."Their enthusiasm and passion for football is second to none and they've got years of experience and knowledge within the game, both as players and coaches.
"It was always my intention to overhaul the Youth department and I couldn't be more delighted with the two men that we've brought in to run it.
"Steve will be our Youth Team Manager and Keith will be responsible for the full-time scholars' education programme, which for a number of years has sadly had appalling examination results.''
Brown, who made 443 appearances during a ten year spell as a player at Adams Park, was number two to Wanderers boss Paul Lambert last season.

CHAIRMAN Gianni Paladini insists QPR will not be bought on the cheap despite the club's Italian owners being willing to relinquish control.
Paladini last week declared that he and major shareholder Antonio Caliendo would seek only the money they paid for their shares when they acquired stakes in the club.
That would mean around £650,000 would be required to purchase Paladini's shareholding and around £4million to take overall control of the club.
But Paladini has warned that simply writing out a cheque for those amounts will not be enough.
He said: "The offer is there for anyone who can take the club forward. I will only want what I paid for my shares.

Paladini added: "The vultures are circling. That always happens with QPR. But we're not saying we will sell to anyone. It has to be the right people.
"We're committed to the club, we just realise we don't have the money to take it further and want others to come in and either help us or take over the club."
A number of parties have expressed an interest including an Israeli group fronted by former Tottenham and Liverpool striker Ronnie Rosenthal, which has failed to prove it has sufficient funds.
And a consortium has this week been discussing approaching the club with an offer.
But at this stage the most likely addition to the Rangers board is Bill Power - the former chairman who was booted out by Paladini and Caliendo in 2005 following a bitter battle for control.
Power has invested in Swindon since his public fall-out with Paladini and has been involved in a takeover bid for the Wilt-shire club.
But the pair have recently rebuilt bridges and Paladini believes Power may return.
"The door is open for Bill," said Paladini.
"I don't think he wants to buy the club but the opportunity is there, if he wants it, to come back and work with me."
Bar an angry exchange with disenchanted club president Harold Winton and a couple of questions about ongoing financial concerns, Paladini and other directors were given a fairly easy ride at last week's annual general meeting of shareholders.
It was confirmed that Rangers made a loss of £3.3million in 2006 - up from £2.6m the previous year. A loss of around £2.6m for 2007 is predicted. Ealing Gazette

Meanwhile, the Swindon Advertiser understands a new investor has shown an interest in the club, in addition to the previous mystery investor' and the Bill Power-led consortium bid.
But as the club continues negotiations behind closed doors, Davis wants reassurance the board can meet their financial obligations....
Davis would also like to see the club re-open negotiations with Bill Power about a possible takeover.
The two parties are currently at loggerheads over the £1.2 million which Power claims was a loan, with a court battle the likely outcome.
Power told the Swindon Advertiser: "I'm still open to persuasion, but at this moment it looks like we're going down the legal route.
"I've spoken to a QC and the documents are currently being prepared.
"I would still love to take over the club with the consortium. If the club were willing to offer the deal we first discussed I would sign it right now.
"But all of a sudden there was a totally different deal on the table. I will not sign that now and I will never sign it."
Power also dismissed claims he was about to launch a takeover bid at Queen's Park Rangers, where he was chairman for two years between 2003 and 2005.
He said: "I still have a lot of friends at QPR and I have dinner with the chairman quite regularly, but I still want to take over at Swindon.
"I've had nothing but kindness from the Swindon fans. I don't want to see their club go into administration again because I know how deeply that will affect them.
"I know what I agreed to, and the difference between that and what the board want me to sign is like chalk and cheese.

....Negotiations regarding the reimbursement of a reported £150,000 insurance money that is preventing goalkeeper Tony Roberts from playing in the Football League is thought to be ongoing.
The pay-out was awarded to the Welshman by an unnamed insurance company when he broke a finger while playing for Millwall in 1998 and was forced to retire from professional football.
He is due a testimonial against West Ham at Victoria Road on July 14 having amassed 311 appearances during a seven-year stay at the League Two newcomers but the likelihood of Daggers' longest-serving player gracing the Football League again remains in the balance, with 45 days to go before the start of the season.
Compromise
Still has suggested in recent weeks that progress is being made and he and chairman Dave Andrews are quietly confident that a compromise can be struck, but it is unclear whether the insurance company are willing to accept less than the amount they paid out and there has so far been no confirmation on Daggers' website of a resolution to the discussions.
The hold-up has meant that an official announcement of Roberts signing a new two-year contract has also not materialised and the 37-year-old may be waiting to see what develops before committing his future to the Daggers. Report

Gallen spent the final four months of last term on loan to Argyle, making a total of 16 appearances and scoring twice.

CHAIRMAN Gianni Paladini insists QPR will not be bought on the cheap despite the club's Italian owners being willing to relinquish control.
Paladini last week declared that he and major shareholder Antonio Caliendo would seek only the money they paid for their shares when they acquired stakes in the club.
That would mean around £650,000 would be required to purchase Paladini's shareholding and around £4million to take overall control of the club.
But Paladini has warned that simply writing out a cheque for those amounts will not be enough.
He said: "The offer is there for anyone who can take the club forward. I will only want what I paid for my shares.

"We're a club that can compete in the Championship and if someone can take QPR further than that, then there is no way we would stand in their way.
"I would leave tomorrow for the price I paid for my shares if that kind of person wanted the club. I would want any other money they had to go into QPR."
Paladini added: "The vultures are circling. That always happens with QPR. But we're not saying we will sell to anyone. It has to be the right people.
"We're committed to the club, we just realise we don't have the money to take it further and want others to come in and either help us or take over the club."
A number of parties have expressed an interest including an Israeli group fronted by former Tottenham and Liverpool striker Ronnie Rosenthal, which has failed to prove it has sufficient funds.
And a consortium has this week been discussing approaching the club with an offer.
But at this stage the most likely addition to the Rangers board is Bill Power - the former chairman who was booted out by Paladini and Caliendo in 2005 following a bitter battle for control.
Power has invested in Swindon since his public fall-out with Paladini and has been involved in a takeover bid for the Wilt-shire club.
But the pair have recently rebuilt bridges and Paladini believes Power may return.
"The door is open for Bill," said Paladini.
"I don't think he wants to buy the club but the opportunity is there, if he wants it, to come back and work with me."
Bar an angry exchange with disenchanted club president Harold Winton and a couple of questions about ongoing financial concerns, Paladini and other directors were given a fairly easy ride at last week's annual general meeting of shareholders.
It was confirmed that Rangers made a loss of £3.3million in 2006 - up from £2.6m the previous year. A loss of around £2.6m for 2007 is predicted. Ealing Gazette

TRUSTSTFC chairman Paul Davis has challenged Swindon Town officials to reveal their hand as the clock ticks down towards the deadline for the CVA payment.....
Meanwhile, the Swindon Advertiser understands a new investor has shown an interest in the club, in addition to the previous mystery investor' and the Bill Power-led consortium bid.
But as the club continues negotiations behind closed doors, Davis wants reassurance the board can meet their financial obligations....
Davis would also like to see the club re-open negotiations with Bill Power about a possible takeover.
The two parties are currently at loggerheads over the £1.2 million which Power claims was a loan, with a court battle the likely outcome.
Power told the Swindon Advertiser: "I'm still open to persuasion, but at this moment it looks like we're going down the legal route.
"I've spoken to a QC and the documents are currently being prepared.
"I would still love to take over the club with the consortium. If the club were willing to offer the deal we first discussed I would sign it right now.
"But all of a sudden there was a totally different deal on the table. I will not sign that now and I will never sign it."
Power also dismissed claims he was about to launch a takeover bid at Queen's Park Rangers, where he was chairman for two years between 2003 and 2005.
He said: "I still have a lot of friends at QPR and I have dinner with the chairman quite regularly, but I still want to take over at Swindon.
"I've had nothing but kindness from the Swindon fans. I don't want to see their club go into administration again because I know how deeply that will affect them.
"I know what I agreed to, and the difference between that and what the board want me to sign is like chalk and cheese.

....Negotiations regarding the reimbursement of a reported £150,000 insurance money that is preventing goalkeeper Tony Roberts from playing in the Football League is thought to be ongoing.
The pay-out was awarded to the Welshman by an unnamed insurance company when he broke a finger while playing for Millwall in 1998 and was forced to retire from professional football.
He is due a testimonial against West Ham at Victoria Road on July 14 having amassed 311 appearances during a seven-year stay at the League Two newcomers but the likelihood of Daggers' longest-serving player gracing the Football League again remains in the balance, with 45 days to go before the start of the season.
Compromise
Still has suggested in recent weeks that progress is being made and he and chairman Dave Andrews are quietly confident that a compromise can be struck, but it is unclear whether the insurance company are willing to accept less than the amount they paid out and there has so far been no confirmation on Daggers' website of a resolution to the discussions.
The hold-up has meant that an official announcement of Roberts signing a new two-year contract has also not materialised and the 37-year-old may be waiting to see what develops before committing his future to the Daggers. Report

After being called to a meeting with Manager John Gregory at the Club's Harlington Training complex this morning, Head of Youth Joe Gallen has left the Club with immediate effect.
Gallen, 34, joined the Club in October 1998.
Commenting on Gallen's departure, Gregory told www.qpr.co.uk: "We thank Joe for the contribution he has made to the Club during his time here and wish him every success in the future.'' QPR

Plymouth Argyle manager Ian Holloway is confident of completing the signing of striker Kevin Gallen.Gallen, 31 (pictured right), has been offered a one-year contract by the Pilgrims this week and they are awaiting his response.
It follows his release by Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.
Gallen spent the final four months of last term on loan to Argyle, making a total of 16 appearances and scoring twice.
Holloway hopes a deal can be agreed with Gallen before Argyle start pre-season training on Monday.
But, if not, the Pilgrims' boss believes Gallen could still report back with the rest of the first team squad.
Holloway told Herald Sport: "I'm very, very hopeful indeed that Kevin will sign for us.
"I talked to his agent a couple of days ago and then spoke to the board of directors. I'm delighted they have agreed to support me in this.
"Kevin has been around a bit, and been to other clubs and not done as well as he should have, but I still believe he could add a lot to us.
"Hopefully, we can come up with a deal which Kevin agrees is right and the club agrees is right."
Meanwhile, Holloway has still to decide whether to add another defender to his squad after the £50,000 transfer of centre-back Hasney Aljofree to Swindon Town last week...One defender Holloway has been linked with is Watford's Clarke Carlisle...

QPR boss John Gregory believes new signing Daniel Nardiello can form the perfect strike pairing with Dexter Blackstock.
Nardiello agreed a two-year deal with Rangers earlier this week after turning down Norwich and former club Barnsley, and Gregory is confident the 24-year-old will be the ideal foil for Blackstock.

According to reports of the AGM (see below), Steele, said they were negotiating with the tax authorities; a payment would be made as soon as the following week (which is now a couple of weeks ago) and that the Winding up order would be rescinded.
Since that email, press report and the June 15 AGM (brief reports below), there has no been further published reports about whether the hearing is now cancelled.

The Championship side have been served with a winding-up order by Customs and Excise in relation to unpaid VAT.
The figure owed is reportedly in the region of £700,000 to £800,000 and there is a court hearing planned for 4th July.
But QPR chairman Paladini is confident the issue will be resolved and is adamant that the club will not be going under.
"We are in negotiations and I am not just confident, but I'm certain the matter will be sorted out before the case is due to be heard," Paladini told the Sunday Mirror.
"The problem is that some of the money being claimed goes back five or six years, before I was involved with the club.
"But if any supporters are concerned about the club's future they should not be.

Joining up with John Spencer and Trevor Sinclair (and a recovering Kevin Gallen), the "on paper" unbeatable forward line, looked a good for promotion. Unfortunately not!
Some 18 months later, after 56 league games and 13 goals, Gerry Francis sold him to Barnsley for 1 million pounds plus (in part to cut down on QPR wages).
After playing for a number of other clubs, Sheron was recently appointed youth team manager at Bury (after previously being in charge of Bury's Center of Excellence)
