BBC - QPR need a new manager - Harford
- Queens Park Rangers caretaker manager Mick Harford believes a permanent appointment needs to be made soon if the side are to avoid relegation.
- The club are yet to win a game in 2010 and now lie just two points off the relegation spots, having lost their last five league matches under Harford.
- "We're in a real dogfight at the moment," he told BBC London 94.9.
- "In my opinion they need to bring someone into to this club as quickly as possible," Harford added.
- "[They need] a manager who is going to re-structure the club, have his own ideas and firm beliefs in what he wants to do."
- However the former Wimbledon player, who has failed to win since taking temporary charge at Loftus Road, says he would relish the opportunity to be given the job on a full-time basis.
- "If it is me, I'll take on the challenge, if it's someone else, I'll back them all the way," Harford said.
- "I think this football club needs a bit of stability, it needs to bring in a manager, whoever it may be, with the right credentials to turn not only this season around, but the football club around."
- QPR currently lie 18th in the Championship, but the former Luton Town striker is optimistic that the situation can improve.
- "I've said to the players we need to start winning games as soon as possible and getting clean sheets.
