QPR Official Site - HARFORD: WE OWE IT TO YOU
Posted on: Thu 18 Feb 2010
- QPR boss Mick Harford has lauded praise on the Loftus Road faithful ahead of this weekend's clash with Doncaster Rovers.
- The R's welcome Donny to W12 on Saturday in desperate need of three valuable points to haul them away from the lower reaches of the Coca Cola Championship, against a Rovers side who are currently in tenth position following their 2-0 midweek win at Sheffield Wednesday.
- Harford admits that the clash with Sean O'Driscoll's men will certainly prove tough, but has thanked the QPR faithful for their continued support and says that their backing in the coming months could be pivotal as the league season draws to a close.
- "We've got to hold our heads up high, roll our sleeves up, stick our chests out and turn our season around," Harford told www.qpr.co.uk.
- "I hope we can achieve this against a Doncaster team who will be hard to beat.
- "We all know we're in a results-based industry so we must get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
- "We have fantastic supporters here at QPR.
- "They haven't had a lot to cheer about over the last few months but the fact that they are right behind us is a testament to how loyal they are.
- "We, as a group - staff and players - owe the supporters of this great Football Club, a welcome three points." QPR
QPR Official Site - FOOTBALL V HOMOPHOBIA IS LAUNCHED Posted on: Fri 19 Feb 2010
- Today marks the launch of the initiative: Football v Homophobia by The Justin Campaign, to raise awareness of homophobia in amateur and professional football; to unite Clubs, players and fans internationally by using the game of football to bring communities together in opposing hate and intolerance in the world's favourite sport.
After listening to partners and supporters, The Justin Campaign believes that to tackle homophobia in football effectively a collective show of opposition needs to be made by all involved to get a message of zero tolerance across to the perpetrators of homophobic insults and abuse.
The Justin Campaign intend that Football v Homophobia on February 19th will become the one day each year where individuals, community groups & teams and Clubs internationally can express their disapproval of homophobia in football by celebrating under the banner of Football v Homophobia.
The launch in the UK this year will also coincide with LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) History Month, a full month of activity celebrating the lives and achievements of the LGBT community.
The Justin Campaign hopes that you can express your support for the day and ensure that this initiative significantly changes how LGBT people are perceived and treated in football.
