Bucks Free Press-Gorman tipped for Blues return
Saturday 10th October 2009
- FORMER Wycombe chief John Gorman could be set for a sensational return to Adams Park.
- The ex-England assistant manager was at Priestfield Stadium this afternoon to see the Blues lose 3-2 to Gillingham.
- He was sitting close to Wanderers MD Steve Hayes and was seen taking notes throughout the game leading to speculation that he could be set to return to Adams Park as succesor to Peter Taylor.
- Gorman would be a popular choice with Blues fans.
- He led the club to the brink of promotion previously only to miss out as double tragedy hit the club.
- He lost his own wife to cancer and the club was also rocked by the death of midfielder Mark Philo in a car crash.
- He was controversially sacked by Hayes who felt his mind wasn't on the job as he was still grieving the loss of his wife Myra.
- Gorman was angry at the time but later accepted he did need more time to grieve.
- The pair have remained friends since.
- Gorman is currently assistant manager at Championship side QPR.
- Sources close to the club say they are expecting Wanderers to formally announce their new manager on Monday. Bucks Free Press
