Eastwood, Furlong and Bentley win Powerade Awards

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Freddy Eastwood, Luton Town striker Paul Furlong, and Morecambe defender Jim Bentley have been named the Powerade Players of the Month for August....
Furlong's form has been instrumental in the Hatters early season success, after his summer move from Queens Park Rangers. A fine performance at home to Hartlepool United set Luton on their way to victory before the front man netted against Gillingham to help Kevin Blackwell's men secure another three points.
Sean Thornton of Leyton Orient, Jermaine Beckford of Leeds United and Tranmere Rovers' Chris Greenacre were also short-listed.
Kamara said: "Paul has been a great acquisition for Luton and is continuing to defy the critics. He has shown superb form for his new club so far and even at 38 looks a shrewd piece of business from Kevin Blackwell."...
The Powerade Awards panel, chaired by Sky Sports pundit and Coca-Cola Ambassador Chris Kamara, made the decision. The panel also includes Paul Hetherington, Chairman of the Football Writers' Association and Malcolm Clarke, Chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation. Football League
