QPR Official Site - EXCLUSIVE: R'S CLINCH HELGUSON SIGNING
- Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to confirm the permanent signing of striker Heidar Helguson.
- The 31 year-old Icelandic international has put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2011, after the R's agreed an undisclosed fee with Bolton Wanderers for his services.
- Helguson joined Rangers on loan in late November and has since gone on to make seven appearances, netting three goals in the process.
- Helguson said: "I have really enjoyed my loan spell here and I am happy that my future is sorted out.
"I believe we have a great opportunity to push on in the second half of the season and I am looking forward to playing my part in what promises to be an exciting future for this Club."
R's boss Paulo Sousa also expressed his delight at the news, commenting: "Heidar has proved to be a valuable addition to the squad in recent weeks and I am delighted we've managed to bring him here on a permanent deal.
"He is a proven goalscorer at this level and I'm sure QPR supporters will join me in welcoming him to our family."

Bolton Official Site - Helguson Completes QPR Transfer
- Heidar Helguson has completed his permanent switch to Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee.
- The 31-year-old striker moved to Loftus Road on loan in late November and has now put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal at the club.
- The Iceland international made seven appearances for Rangers during his initial loan spell scoring three goals.
- Helguson joined Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2007 and scored two goals for the Whites in ten outings." Bolton
Bolton Official Site - Megson Pleased With Shittu
- Gary Megson has praised Danny Shittu for his contribution in last weekend's match against Wigan Athletic.
The Bolton manager felt that the 28-year-old put in a steady performance on his return to the starting line-up, despite Wanderers' defeat to their local rivals.
Prior to the game, Shittu hadn't featured for the Whites since the 3-1 home loss to Arsenal on September 20.
In the time since, the former Watford man has waited patiently for his chance following the impressive form of defensive duo Gary Cahill and Andy O'Brien over the last three months.
Megson acknowledged that things didn't go to plan for the big defender when he made his debut for the club back in August against Northampton Town, but since then he believes that the Nigerian international has settled into life at the Reebok.
"He did well and I was pleased for him," commented Megson on Shittu's performance against Wigan Athletic.
"Danny didn't have the best of debuts against Northampton in the Carling Cup, but since then he has done okay.
"I think Danny did have a little bit more pressure on his shoulders going into the Wigan game, but I think it was the type of game that would suit him.
"He won a lot of headers, looked our main threat of getting a goal and hit the crossbar. I'm not sure if he got the final touch to the one that wasn't given by the referee but he was certainly in the right area." Bolton
