TEAMTALK - We have a shadow squad - Harford- QPR boss Mick Harford insists injuries and suspensions have hit his side hard as their slump down the table continues.
- Rangers were without Peter Ramage and Mikele Leigertwood for Tuesday's defeat by Ipswich - their fourth straight loss - due to bans, while Tamas Priskin was ineligible to face his parent club.
- "We had two players suspended and we have two very influential players, Martin Rowlands and Gavin Mahon, who have long-term injuries," said Harford.
- "Tamas Priskin couldn't play against Ipswich and we lost Marcus Bent early in the game. We had Gary Borrowdale on the bench and he was our only defender left and he had only trained for two days.
- "So without making excuses it is very difficult, we have a shadow squad at the moment and it's very difficult to put out your best team. We are down to the bare bones." Teamtalk

Paul Warburton/Fulham Chronicle - Aston Villa midfielder's QPR move hangs by a thread
- THE deal to bring Isaiah Osbourne to QPR on loan hangs by a thread after Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill turned down Rangers overtures.
- The midfielder is needed to help end a desperate run of four defeats on the spin and no win of any sort since Boxing Day.
- Rs hopes now rest on the 22-year-old bringing pressure to bear on O’Neill and permit the move after the latest setback on Tuesday night saw Ipswich win 2-1 in front of the lowest league crowd of the season that barracked both board and players.
- However, the Villa manager needs Osbourne to act as cover for the injured Nigel Reo-Coker – and it might signal Hoops having to look elsewhere.
- Boss Mick Harford slammed his side as lacking ‘b----cks’ against Ipswich, and quickly removed Nigel Quashie from the equation at half-time.
- Rangers are desperate to find a defensive midfielder after losing both Mikele Leigertwood and Gavin Mahon for different reasons.
- Quashie, in his second spell at the club where he started has been struggling to hold down the role, while Osbourne had the game of his life against QPR when his then loan club Middlesbrough ran riot at Loftus Road in December.
- An insider said: "If Martin O’Neill won’t let him go – there’s nothing more you can do." Fulham Chronicle
