QPR Official Site - QPR - SUPER SEVENS
- QPR in the Community Trust is delighted to announce the launch of its inaugural 'Super Sevens' experience.
- The initiative, which is the first of its kind, will take place over two evenings, inviting local families from the nearby White City Estate into the Club where children of the age of seven will meet First Team players and Spark the Mascot, while being given a tour of Loftus Road by their R's heroes.
- Moroccan magician Adel Taarabt will be in attendance, as will Radek Cerny, Angelo Balanta, Akos Buzsaky, Rowan Vine, Hogan Ephraim, Peter Ramage and Antonio German.
- QPR's Community Trust has indentified that the age of seven is when a child is most likely to make a choice on which team they are to support in their adult life.
- The event - which is being held over two evenings on Monday 12th April and Wednesday 14th April - is aimed at attracting seven year-olds to Loftus Road on a regular basis, both now and in the future.
- Trust Football Development Officer Daniel Edwards, who has overseen preparations for the event, said: "This is the first time that we've attempted a scheme such as this.
- "Our aim is to engage with our local community, focusing on the seven-year olds as we feel this is a vital age of a child's decision making on what team to support.
- "We want them to feel that they are part of the Club, and what better incentive than to get a tour of the stadium, meet the players, the mascot, their future heroes and embrace the essence that is Queens Park Rangers Football Club QPR

Chris Charles/BBC Blog Review of the week
"...So now you know. Have a good weekend one and all. I will be at Loftus Road at 8.45am on Saturday morning, preparing to walk the 12 miles to Crystal Palace to raise money for the QPR Tiger Cubs - a team for children with Down's syndrome that my little girl will be playing for in exactly five years' time (Happy Birthday, sweetheart)!
- I recently wrote a blog about it http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chrischarles/2010/03/doing_it_for_the_kids.html
and if you want to help out, be my guest - even Jeremy Paxman has chipped in! While my companions have been involved in intensive training, I have admirably cut down to just a couple of pints and a few fags a day - what could possibly go wrong?
- You can follow my progress on the walk and other stuff on Twitter.

Barnet Official Site - FURLONG'S CONTRIBUTION IS MASSIVE
- Evergreen Paul Furlong has made "a massive contribution" to the Barnet team in the past 15 months, Ian Hendon said today.
- "Paul plays as an old-fashioned centre forward and it is good to see", said the manager. "I know that opposing defenders do not relish playing against him and John O'Flynn would be one of the first to saythat Paul has made many opportunities for him".
- The top scoring Irishman has missed the last three games with a knee injury and Hendon said that the form and the goals scored by Furlong and 19-year-old Jake Hyde in his absence against Chesterfield gave him a selection problem.
- The 41-year-old Furlong joined the Bees on loan from Southend United in January 2009. When he delayed accepting a new deal last summer Hendon was under pressure from supporters to sign him.
