QPR boss "not totally confident" board will stick with him despite Championship glory
NEIL WARNOCK'S future as QPR boss will be decided in showdown talks with Loftus Road chiefs on Thursday.
Despite leading Rangers back to the top flight, Warnock fears he will be sacked as Rangers turn to a high-profile boss for their Premier League return.
Warnock led Rangers to the seventh promotion of his career, winning the Championship title in controversial circumstances.
The club escaped without a points deduction after breaching third-party ownership rules in the recruitment of Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin.
That deal took place before Warnock's arrival at Loftus Road, but his relationship with the board has always been fiery.
The former Sheffield United boss insisted his job was safe during the promotion run-in. But that appears to have changed, leading to Thursday's meeting with club owner Flavio Briatore. Talks about his position have twice been postponed.
Warnock is desperate for another crack at the Premier League after his bitter experience with Sheffield United - his only managerial experience in the top flight.
He resigned after the Blades were relegated amid claims that Liverpool had fielded a weakened side against drop rivals Fulham, and the Carlos Tevez saga at West Ham.
He has been itching ever since for another chance at the top level. But he knows Rangers have other ideas and he could be out of work next week.
Owners Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone are thought to be considering a move for former Chelsea chief Claudio Ranieri or his Italian compatriot Marcello Lippi - although Warnock has confidently stated he is as good a manager as either of them" NOTW

QPR Official Site - WARNOCK ON HIS FUTURE
Sat 14 May 2011
- Neil Warnock has today (Saturday 14th May 2011) responded to an article that appeared in Friday's Evening Standard newspaper.
- 'Having read the article in last night's Evening Standard, which was meant to be a summary of our successful season, I'm very disappointed that the only subject matter mentioned revolved around my future and all the speculation regarding my position.
- 'I want to reiterate to our supporters that, having spoken to the Board at QPR, Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Amit Bhatia in the last few days, they have assured me that my future is not in any doubt whatsoever and they're looking forward to helping me acquire the players to make next season just as successful as the one we've just enjoyed.
- 'Hopefully all the speculation now will be put to bed once and for all and we can concentrate on what promises to be a memorable first season back in the Premier League for the Club and our supporters.' QPR
