QPR Official Site - HARRY TARGETS 20 POINT RETURN

Redknapp believes 37 points will give R’s a chance …

If someone offered me 37 points now I’d probably take my chance ..."

Harry Redknapp

HARRY REDKNAPP stayed up until the early hours of the morning to watch Saturday’s opponents Manchester United play Real Madrid on Wednesday night – but admits he didn’t learn anything he didn’t already know about the Champions-elect!

Redknapp was in Dubai for the R’s warm weather training camp when Sir Alex Ferguson’s men locked horns with Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League, as Cristiano Ronaldo’s headed goal cancelled out Danny Welbeck’s opener in a pulsating encounter at the Bernabeu.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk ahead of the visit of the Red Devils to W12 this weekend, he said: “I stayed up to watch the game in the early hours of the morning and it was well worth it.

“It was a fantastic game and United could probably have nicked it at the end with the two chances that fell to (Robin) Van Persie.

“They’re a top, top team – world class.

“They could field two world class teams, couldn’t they?

“You look at some of the names that didn’t feature on Wednesday, the likes of Vidic and Smalling and many more, and it’s just unbelievable.”

He added: “It’s a cracking game for us though. Welcoming United to Loftus Road is something I’m sure the fans are excited about.

“We were on a nice little run prior to the Swansea defeat, so we’re looking forward to it.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game, but it’s a great challenge for us.”

Redknapp has targeted a 20-point return from the R’s final 12 fixtures of the campaign, but admits it’s ‘anyone’s guess’ as to what the all-important survival figure might be come May 19th.

“I think we need 20 points from our final 12 games to give ourselves a chance to be honest,” he said.

“If someone offered me 37 points now I’d probably take my chance and think that would be enough.” QPR
