Of course a couple of days ago, it was reported that Birmingham had accepted but Taylor had rejected a QPR approach. It's also been reported that QPR are interested in Wigan center half Fritz Hall.
UPDATE: DAILY MAIL - QPR in talks over Taylor after City tell him he can go
Defender Martin Taylor's four-year spell at Birmingham could be coming to an end after being told he is surplus to requirements by new manager Alex McLeish.
Taylor, who joined Blues from Blackburn in the January 2004 transfer window, played a major part in City regaining their Premier League status last May.
The 28-year-old was rewarded with a new three-year contract by the then manager Steve Bruce but has fallen well down the pecking order during the current campaign.
Taylor has spent the last month on loan at Norwich but QPR are also interested in signing the player and are holding talks with the midlands club.
McLeish said: "I have spoken to Martin and he is down the pecking order. I have said if the right club comes in for him, it will be time for him to move on.
"He has done well for Norwich and helped them climb off the bottom of the Championship with his performances for them.
"I think there are one or two clubs interested in Martin who is weighing them up. I believe QPR are in the hunt." Mail
Birmingham Post/Mail - Birmingham City set to offload Martin Taylor
Dec 13 2007 By Colin Tattum, Birmingham Mail
MARTIN Taylor was today grappling with a dilemma as he attempted to weigh up his future after being told he was surplus to requirements at Birmingham City.
His loan at Norwich City expired last Saturday and the Canaries want their November player-ofthe-month back.
Blues would prefer a straight cash transfer in order to boost new boss Alex McLeish's transfer kitty, but Taylor had been leaning towards another month's loan.
Now QPR have also entered the hunt and they have money to spend after the takeover by Formula One magnates Flavio Bria-tore and Bernie Ecclestone.
Taylor has two-and-a-half years left on his contract at Blues and was hoping that, after getting some much-needed football under his belt at Carrow Road, he could fight for a place at Blues now a new manager was in charge.
But McLeish told him he was being made available, so Taylor then had to reconsider his next move.
The centre-half does not want to rush a decision but keep his options open, although it seems something could give one way or the other tomorrow.
Taylor, a mainstay alongside Radhi Jaidi who helped anchor the Championship promotion success, has made just one appearance for Blues this season, in the Carling Cup at Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, McLeish has been linked with two of his former Scotland national team stars, Kris Boyd (Rangers) and James McFadden (Everton)..." Birmingham Post
BBC - Taylor returns to Birmingham City
Defender Martin Taylor will return to Birmingham City after his loan spell at Norwich was not extended.
The 28-year-old centre-back was a major success in his time with the Canaries, scoring one goal in eight games as they moved out of the relegation zone.
The Carrow Road side hoped to extend the former England Under-21 player's loan spell but were unable to do so.
Norwich manager Glenn Roeder admitted last week that other Championship clubs were interested in signing Taylor. BBC
