Today's the 59th Birthday of Ex-QPR goalie, Alan Spratley.
Born June 5, 1949, Spratley made his first team debut in QPR's FA Cup defeat at Aston Villa in January 1969. Perhaps not one of the best known of ex-QPR players - and certainly he didn't play that many league games for the club (about 30 games) but in the the 1968/69 "First Division Disaster season" and QPR's promotion challenging 1969/1970 season, he played about 1/3 of each of those two seasons in goal. Spratley was the backup goalie first to Mike Kelly and then to Phil Parkes.
Spratley eventually signed for Swindon in the 1973/74 Season. Not very tall for a goalie - Swindon
Among the games Spratley played for QPR:

Brighton - McLeod Signs For Albion
Albion have completed their second major signing of the summer by agreeing a deal with former Everton, QPR and Swansea winger Kevin McLeod, who will join from League One rivals Colchester United on 1st July.
As exclusively revealed this afternoon, via the club's official SMS service, the 27-year-old turned down the offer of a new contract with Colchester and signed a two-year deal with Albion before jetting out for a fortnight's holiday on Sunday.
Albion boss Micky Adams said, "He's a left-winger with good pace, can deliver crosses and in his last game for Colchester in the Championship he got two goals at Scunthorpe - one with a header, one with a shot - so he offers a goal threat as well.
"At this level he's going to be a terrific signing for us. I liked what I saw of him at Colchester in that brief spell I had there. He works hard, wants to improve and wants to get back to the Championship."
Born in Liverpool McLeod made seven senior appearances for the Toffees between 2000 and 2003; he had two loan spells with QPR before moving permanently to Loftus Road in a £250,000 transfer in August 2003.
He won promotion with QPR to the Championship in 2004, alongside Albion, before moving to Swansea City towards the end of the following season for an undisclosed fee.
McLeod helped the Welsh side win the Football League Trophy in 2006, but narrowly missed out on a second promotion as the Swans lost that year's playoff final to Barnsley; he joined Colchester shortly afterwards.
Albion Chairman Dick Knight added, "This is another very important signing we have made. Kevin is an exciting player and in addition to playing most of his career in the Championship, he has the experience of winning promotion from League One." Brighton
One Year ago today, QPR announced the signing of Defender Chris Barker from Cardiff/Colchester!
