Daily Mail/HatchetMan - Bravo Briatore for making mega-rich QPR also-rans - then threatening to take his money away if QPR fans dare to criticise him
Flavio Briatore must inspire great confidence and unity at QPR.
With the team failing to live up to expectations, he has shown his ignorance about the game and warned that despite the billions of pounds available to the club's owners they will not be investing too much of it in the club.
-'We will not be spending money, no,' Rangers' Italian co-owner said. 'Money is not the answer. Manchester City are a very good example - they will be lucky to stay in the Premier League. They are like some in F1, people who have an astronomical budget and can't win a race.'
- The long and short of it...is that Flavio Briatore (left) and Bernie Ecclestone will leave QPR if the fans say bad things about the team
- Now City are 10th in the top flight (QPR are 11th in the division below) and into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. Their efforts may be considered a considerable disappointment, even a failure given their outlay, but that doesn't make Briatore right - or explain why he wants to pick a fight with them.
The guy may have done well in Formula One but his idea of trying to get fans on side at Loftus Road leaves just a little to be desired.
- His message for supporters not keen on the way he and Bernie Ecclestone are running things? 'If they give me hassle then I will walk away,' he said.
Sounds like a thoroughly charming chap, doesn't he? - Daily Mail
