Nottingham Forest Official Site - Billy Gets His Man
-Nottingham Forest have ended their search for a striker by swooping for Queens Park Rangers forward Dexter Blackstock.
- The 22 year old has been on Forest's radar for some weeks but hopes of clinching a loan deal for him looked to be fading.
- But only hours before today's closing of the loan window Forest man Billy Davies got his man.
- Blackstock has signed for the remainder of the season and Rangers have no recall on the player in that time.
-Forest have also agreed an undisclosed loan fee with the Londoners.
Blackstock signed for Rangers from Southampton in a £2.75m deal in August 2006.
- The former England under-21 striker has scored 32 goals in 94 starts during his time at Loftus Road.
- Blackstock started his career with Oxford, where he was born, but joined Southampton before making his debut." Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest Official Site - Billy Delighted
- Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies could not hide his delight at securing the services of Queens Park Rangers striker Dexter Blackstock.
- The 22 year old completed his loan move until the end of the season today and Davis enthused: "I'm sure he will prove to be a great acquisition.
- "It's no secret that we have been looking for a certain type of striker and Dexter certainly fits that bill.
- "I've been watching him with great interest for several seasons and he's got all the attributes of a top striker.
- "Most importantly he scores goals but he's also got presence and good movement in his play.
- "In addition to getting goals himself I'm sure he will provide a lot of openings for others."
- Blackstock will train with his new Forest team mates for the first time on Monday.
