QPR Official Site - GORKSS GETS GREEN LIGHT
- Kaspars Gorkss has been given the green light to resume full training, following the facial injury he sustained in the R's Easter Monday victory against Sheffield Wednesday.
- The Latvian defender suffered a heavy blow to the face late on in Rangers' 3-2 win, and although he soldiered on with a Terry Butcher style head bandage, he was sent to Charing Cross Hospital for assessment last night.
- Following a meeting with the specialists, he had 16 internal stitches and a further 14 external stitches to fix the two and a half inch laceration, as Head Physio, Paul Hunter, explained.
- "The cut was down to the very bone," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"The gash itself was about two and a half inches deep, so he'll be quite sore this morning.
- "But the specialists have given him the go-ahead to resume full training on Thursday with the rest of the lads and assuming he has no setbacks between now and then, he'll be in contention for the trip to Wolves at the weekend." QPR
