Duffy has made just two appearances for Portsmouth
Swansea City are poised to sign Portsmouth defender Richard Duffy on loan until the end of the season.
Wales right-back Duffy left the Swans for Pompey three years ago for £150,000, but the 21-year-old has failed to break into the first team.
Duffy spent last season on loan at Coventry, and returned to the Sky Blues in October for a further two months.
"We're hopeful that we can tie something up on Wednesday," said Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett.
"He has a slight groin injury, but I think that will be sorted out so he can come down to us.
"Richard's a versatile player who can operate anywhere across the back-four. He's an out-and-out defender who is very competitive."
Duffy, who has won 11 caps for Wales, made his professional debut for Swansea as a 16-year-old in 2001.
He agreed a new deal with Portsmouth in March, but has since made just one appearance for the club in a Carling Cup match in September. BBC
