Ex-QPR Jon Munday has signed for non-league Grays.

The former QPR youngster has signed for The Blues after spells with Kidderminster and Worcester and is in contention to start against Northwich...."Setanta

United Boss John Ward gave us his reaction, early this morning, to the Carling Cup second-round draw that sees United faced with a 616 mile round-trip as they make their way to play Queen's Park Rangers in just under a fortnight's time.
He said: "The first thing that springs to mind with a draw like that are the travelling difficulties, both for the team but in particular our supporters. It's a really tough draw in that sense, and especially when you consider that we are in London on the Saturday anyway, for the Orient game. However, from a football point of view and definitely from a player point of view, it's a cracking game. Our players can now put themselves up against a team that is expected to make it to the Premier League next season, so we can look forward to facing a challenge like that. Yes, of course we would have preferred it to have been at home, but we'll take the experience and see what we can use from it. Prior to the Shrewsbury game we mentioned that we wanted to go through so that we could face another test in the second-round, and that's exactly what we've got."
"They are a side that are getting plenty of publicity both on and off the pitch," he added. "They have some high profile backing now, and they genuinely expect to make that next step up. I think it's quite exciting for us to go up against a team like that. I don't think many people will give us much of a chance, but we don't mind that. We'll be going down there to give it a go, and we will be doing our best to get through to round-three. You never know, we might actually get a home draw if we do!"
"The first thing we did this morning was sit down and look at the logistics of it all," he admitted. "We are considering all of the options and I would imagine, at this point, that we will decide to travel back up after the Orient game and then go down there again on the Monday. I think the lads would prefer to be back at home on the Sunday and get a bit of rest and family time, rather than stay down there, but we'll see."
"Our intention is still to go ahead with the open training session on the Monday after the Orient game, as we had arranged," he concluded. "That's something that we are very keen to do with the fans but, obviously, we do have to see where we are once we have finalised our QPR travelling details."
Amazing fact of the day:
QPR Manager Iain Dowie will face Carlisle United in the second-round of the Carling Cup for the third year in a row ... with his third club!
He won 1-0 against Neil McDonald's Cumbrians with Charlton Athletic, at the Valley, in 2006. He followed that up with a 2-0 victory up here, with Coventry City, when Greg Abbott held the reins, and he completes his hat-trick when the Blues travel to Loftus Road under the tutelage of John Ward.
Now that's fascinating!

Ex-QPR Tony Thorpe back with Luton.
Luton Today.Carl Field: - Thorpe back in Town Ex-Hatter returns to training Striker Tony Thorpe says he wants to repay Luton Town after it was revealed he is back training with his former club.
Thorpe, 34, who has scored 70 goals in 164 league appearances for the Hatters, first played for the club between 1992-1998, before later returning for two short loan spells, along with another permanent stint in 2002.
His departure to QPR while the club were in administration in 2003 left a bitter taste in the mouth of Luton supporters but, after returning for the Legends game earlier this year, that may now be water under the bridge.
Thorpe spent last season at Southern League outfit Barton Rovers and, after clearing up confusion about whether he is allowed to play professionally after speculation he had received an insurance payout for his damaged cornea, he contacted the club, offering to help out. Luton Today
