Training with QPR: Simone Pavan:
Australian FourFourTwo/Aidan Ormond - Italian Clubs Eye VPL Trialist
"After a month of trial games against Serie A and Belgian opposition, Victorian Premier League defender Ralph Napoli has interest from at least two Italian clubs.
Napoli, 23, from Fawkner in the VPL, has played 11 games in the last 20 days as part of a team of uncontracted players from Italy and South America who are playing as a team in Italy to help them gain professional contracts.
In what amounts to a trialists tour, the cobbled together squad have squared off against Serie A sides in pre-season mode including Atalanta, Bologna and Chievo Verona.
Other trial games have been played against Padova, Monza and Belgian club Royal Cercle.
Napoli, who has been traveling from game to game on a bus with the squad, says the experience has been eye-opening....
Uncontracted players who've been on the tour include Italian Simone Pavan, who last season played at Livorno in Italy, and Serbian Ivan Vukomanovic, formerly of Dynamo Moscow. Pavan is now currently training with QPR while Vukomanovic has just signed with Maccabi Herzliya in Israel. Australia442
Nice Interview!
Vital Football/QPR - Part II - Former R`s stopper Chris Day speaks to Vital QPR about his time in W12 in the second of two parts.
Excerpts:
After three years of hard work you saw the R's promoted to Division 1 - How could you best describe the day?
"Promotion was the climax of 2 years hard work and got the club back towards where it deserves to be. To see so many hooped shirts inside Hillsborough was an amazing sight and to celebrate in the crowd after with my wife and so many friends was a great feeling. Also we had a hell of a party all the way home on the coach and it was carried on back with the coach load of fans and friends that had travelled from Stevenage long into the night you know who you all are!!!
What was it like working for the charismatic Ian Holloway?
Working with Ollie was a fantastic experience not at least for the fact we got all the one liners before you did!! On a serious note I felt he put a lot of pride and passion back into the club and was the sort of 'Gaffer' that you could talk to about anything , whether it be football or personal . You only have to read his book to be inspired and get an insight to everything that went on.
Is there anyone you keep in touch with at QPR past or present?
I don`t keep in touch with any of the lads in particular but my wife and I get over to at least 3 or 4 games a season to catch up and enjoy the atmosphere before and after. We both made a lot of friends who supported the club during our time at QPR and still see most of them a lot now...."

Update to the Harrow Move Story
A brief response from the Harrow Observer responding to comments on messageboards questioning their "QPR Deny Moving to Harrow" story in the Harrow Observer which was posted on QPR Report a couple of days ago.
Harrow Observer Post - "Hello, Just to respond to the comment left by "dan" left on your site. The article was in response to widespread rumours in Harrow about QPRmoving to the site .No-one knows where they came from but they were widespread enough round here to justify running something to clear it up. It wasn't based on the speculation of the fan quoted. Cheers Ben, Harrow Observer"
PFA's Give Me Footbal/Mark Shail - QPR boss Iain Dowie denies a rift with the clubs owners as he focuses his attention of matter on the pitch
Wealthy QPR owner Flavio Briatore has reportedly given manager Iain Dowie the green light to splash the cash and, as a result, Rangers have been made second favourites to win the Championship, behind market leaders Birmingham City.
However, being given money to spend in the transfer market brings with it added pressure to succeed and Dowie is also one of the bookies favourites to be the first Championship manager to lose his job.
There have already been rumours of a rift between Briatore and Dowie over transfer dealings, but the former Coventry and Charlton boss was quick to play down the reports.
"People will always make mischief. It always surprises me when people dont want to be positive and write negative stories,' said Dowie. "We have some high-profile owners and have the tag of favourites to go up - but we have to embrace that and meet it head on.'
Goalkeeper Radek Cerny has arrived from Tottenham and central defender Peter Ramage has been signed from Newcastle but there will almost certainly be more faces brought in.
However, many of the players that have been linked with a move to Loftus Road are inexperienced foreigners and it quite often takes overseas players a little time to adjust to the speed and competitiveness of the Championship. So, with that in mind, it may just be the case that the bookies have overreacted.
Two wins in their first two matches of the campaign represents a bright start but the team were less than convincing in both those narrow victories.
INS Radek Cerny – undisclosed fee
Peter Ramage – undisclosed fee
Emmanuel Ledesma – loan
Kaspars Gorkss - £250,000
Daniel Parejo – loan
OUTS Daniel Nardiello – loan
Zesh Rehman – loan
Simon Walton – undisclosed fee
Chris Barker – undisclosed fee
Stefan Bailey – released
PREDICTION Admittedly, the weight of Briatores wallet looks sure to turn QPR into a force this season but many teams before them have spent big money and found out to their cost that it doesnt guarantee promotion. But they are definite play-off contenders.
A BRIEF HISTORY Queens Park Rangers Football Club originated from the amalgamation of two teams in 1885 and was originally known as St Judes, changing to its present name two years later. The club moved to Loftus Road in 1917 and has been based there ever since, bar two short stays at White City.
In 1920 they became founder members of Division Three South and remained stuck in that division until 1948, when Rangers enjoyed a fine season, winning the league and making it through to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
There was a quick return to the lower standard, however, and when the divisions split they settled into the new Third Division until a burst of activity in the late 1960s. In 1967, under the management of Alec Stock, the club won both the Division Three title and the League Cup, after a thrilling victory over West Brom in the first League Cup Final staged at Wembley.
This was followed by another promotion to the First Division but the rise proved too sudden and they were relegated the following season.
When QPR next went into the top flight they were better prepared for it and in 1976, with a side containing the likes of Frank McLintock, Phil Parkes, Gerry Francis and Stan Bowles, they were pipped in the race for the League title by Liverpool.
The club reached two major finals in the 1980s, losing narrowly to Spurs in the 1982 FA Cup Final and being beaten by Oxford in the 1986 League Cup Final.
DID YOU KNOW? Ray Wilkins is the oldest player to play for Rangers, aged 39 years and 352 days. Give Me Football
