"....At least things are proceeding smoothly again for Iain Dowie at QPR. Keep on winning, as they did on Saturday home to Doncaster, and talk of bust-ups with the club's owners will be swept under the carpet." Telegraph
MAIL/Ian Gibb and Simon Cass - Blackstock fires warning to his QPR team mates after victory
Dexter Blackstock knows what is required of QPR these days.
The striker scored as Iain Dowie’s side managed their second home win of the season, beating Doncaster 2-0.
But Blackstock was quick to warn his team-mates: ‘When I first signed, the ambition at this club was to stay in this division and we did that by the skin of our teeth.
'Two years down the line, that’s not good enough.’
There is pressure on Dowie because of the patronage of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal and the inference they will storm to the Barclays Premier League.
Doncaster manager Sean O’Driscoll, whose passing team were undone by two shocking pieces of defending, has sympathy for Dowie.
He said: ‘It’s the easiest thing in the world to spend money.
'They could spend an awful lot and get a team of prima donnas who don’t really want to play in the Championship, get paid a lot and do nothing.’
In fact, it was Dowie’s foreign imports who set up victory with Daniel Parejo, the teenager on loan from Real Madrid, creating the opener for Blackstock and Argentine Emmanuel Ledesma scoring his first goal for the club.
Blackstock praised both and said: ‘If the foreign lads come in and help us, we welcome them with open arms.’ Mail

JUBILANT HOOPS UP FOR PREM CHALLENGE
Dexter Blackstock insists moneybags QPR can hit another jackpot by winning promotion.
Rangers are expected to deliver after being taken over by billionaire trio Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal.
Strike ace Black stock, 22, knows only a place in the Premier League will be good enough to satisfy the money-men.
But the former Southampton star, who bagged the opener against Doncaster, reckons Rangers will thrive on the pressure.
He said: "Everyone knows about the backing we've got, everyone's excited and hopefully we can fulfil our potential.
"In the changing room there are not many players who have gone into a Championship season as one of the favourites so wehave to grasp that.
"But if you want to be a champion you have to deal with pressure and we are all up for the challenge.
"When I first signed the ambition was just to stay in the league and we did that by the skin of our teeth. Two years down the line that's not good enough - we have to be pushing for promotion."
Blackstock dedicated his goal to Ray Jones, the young striker who died in a car accident a year ago.
He said: I was determined to get the result for him and get a goal to show my respects."
Iain Dowie's side stormed into an early lead with goals from Blackstock and on-loan Argentine Emmanuel Ledesma.
Defeat brought Doncaster crashing back to earth following a bright start to their first season back in the Championship.
But boss Sean O'Driscoll insists Rovers - who boast their own loaded owner in John Ryan - wil not be dumbing down their ambitions this season.
He said: "The chairman wants to win the European Cup in the next five years. He is one of those people who thinks you should have those big ambitions." Mirror
