QPR Official Site: DI CARMINE AT THE DOUBLE
Samuel Di Carmine bagged a brace, as QPR Reserves fought back from 2-0 down to beat Millwall 4-3 at The New Den.

In a topsy-turvy affair, the Italian notched the all-important winner in the 88th minute, on an afternoon when Akos Buzsaky - who missed a second half spot-kick - stepped up his comeback from an ankle injury with a 70 minute cameo.

Former favourite Marcus Bignot featured for the Lions, but it was his old Club who left with maximum points, with the R's other goals coming from youngsters Joe Ostler and Romone Rose.

Rangers trailed at the break to Ryan Smith's 22nd minute strike.

After evading two challenges, the left sided midfielder coasted in to the box and from the tightest of angles, squeezed the ball past Lee Camp.

Soon after, Matteo Alberti was booked for a heavy challenge on goalscorer Smith, before Daniel Keen forced Camp in to a stunning full length save, diverting a header on target, which the R's stopper tipped to safety.

Despite trailing, Rangers finished the half in the ascendancy, with Rose seeing his shot smothered by Preston Edwards, and Buzsaky firing inches wide on the stroke of half-time.

Undeterred, Adrian Forbes doubled the hosts' advantage on the resumption, only for Rangers to respond in style.

Skipper Ostler came up for Buzsaky's corner and sent a towering header beyond the outstretched dive of Edwards to reduce the buffer, before Rose smashed a stunning effort from fully 20-yards in to the back of the net to put Rangers on terms.

The comeback was complete soon after, when Di Carmine - with his back to goal - lost his marker with ease before sending a swivelling shot in to the far corner.

Buoyed by his goal, the Italian found himself one-on-one with the Lions again keeper moments later, having been put through by Buzsaky.

As Edwards rushed out, Di Carmine coolly lifted the ball over him, only to be sent tumbling to ground by the Lions custodian.

The referee wasted no time in pointing to the spot, but bizarrely only booked Edwards, despite the fact that he had clearly prevented a goalscoring opportunity.

Hungarian ace Buzsaky stepped up from 12-yards, only to see his effort saved by Edwards, diving to his right.

Millwall made the most of their reprieve when Gary Bowes equalised 15 minutes from time with a well-taken long range strike, but Rangers weren't to be denied, as Di Carmine completed the scoring in the 88th minute to round off a quite remarkable second half.

QPR: Camp, Ainsworth, Ostler, Harris, Ilesanmi, Alberti, Bolder, Buzsaky (Maguire 70), Ephraim, Rose, Di Carmine (Flood 89). Subs: Crowther, Arthur. QPR

Millwall Official Site - Millwall Reserves 3 QPR Reserves 4

Samuel Dicarmine grabbed a last-gasp winner as QPR took the derby honours in a pulsating Pontin's Holidays League clash at The Den.
Dicarmine capitalised on some sloppy defending to lash home in the 89th-minute to secure victory for the west London outfit.
In a topsy-turvy encounter Millwall dominated the opening half and Ryan Smith's 10th-minute corner was headed narrowly wide by Patrick O'Connor.
Smith then set Scott Barron free on the left and the latter's cross was held by Lee Camp in the visiting goal.
At the other end it took an excellent stop by Preston Edwards to clear Matteo Alberti's goalbound shot with his legs.
Ashley Grimes and Lyle Taylor both forced smart stops from keeper Camp as The Lions continued to ask questions of the Hoops rearguard, and it was no surprise when the home side broke the deadlock on 21 minutes.
There seemed to be minimal danger when Adrian Forbes threaded the ball through to Smith, but the left winger cut inside, beat two defenders and then somehow managed to squeeze his shot into the back of the net from an impossible-looking angle.
Two minutes later Alberti was lucky to only be shown a yellow card by referee Mclaughlin following an horrendous challenge on goalscorer Smith, but it was the Millwall man who had the last laugh as he continued to tease and torment the opposition.
A sublime piece of skill by Smith set up Grimes on 35 minutes, but on this occasion his shot was comfortably held by Camp before Taylor drilled wide from 12 yards following great work on the right by Forbes.
Danny Keen was a whisker away from adding a second for The Lions five minutes before the break when his header from a great Barron delivery was parried at full stretch by the busy Hoops keeper before the ball was booted clear.
However Millwall only had to wait until five minutes after the restart to make it 2-0. Smith's incisive pass found Barron on the left and his deep delivery was met first-time by Forbes, who lashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range.
But The Hoops reduced the deficit within 120 seconds when Joe Oaster's header looped over Preston Edwards in the home goal. And by the 56th-minute, the visitors had hauled themselves level courtesy of a crisp finish from Ramone Rose.
QPR turned a 2-0 deficit into 3-2 lead on 72 minutes when Dicarmine's shot on the turn flew in off the bottom of the left-hand post.
The visitors had a great chance to further increase their lead 60 seconds later when Edwards was penalised for a foul on Alberti, although no contact seemed to have been made.
Justice was seen to be done, however, when the keeper made a great save to deny Dicarmine from the resulting spot kick.
The tide turned Millwall's way with nine minutes remaining when Gary Bowes - a 68th-minute replacement for Grimes - despatched a low shot that gave Camp no chance.
Keen could have fired The Lions ahead seconds later, only to shoot straight at keeper Camp from a good position.
But there was one final twist to the tale when Dicarmine took full advantage of some hesitancy in the home defence and cracked home the winner with just one minute left.

QPR Official Site - STAN TALKS UP R'S CHANCES
QPR legend Stan Bowles believes the R's have a 'good chance' of promotion this season.
Speaking at a Sportsman's Dinner at Stevenage Borough Football Club on Monday night, the 59 year-old - who made 315 appearances for the R's, scoring 96 goals - said: "Rangers have got a good chance this season.
"I saw them on the opening day against Barnsley and after an indifferent 20 minutes or so, they played some lovely football and ground out the result.
"They've made a decent enough start and there's one or two coming back to fitness which is obviously a good thing.
"It's a tight division and anyone can beat anyone on their day, but I'd like to think the R's will be up there competing at the end of the season."

Probably the last thing any player should be saying...

Coventry Telegraph - Peter Ramage confident of Ricoh win
QPR defender Peter Ramage says his side are confident of picking up three points against Coventry City later this month.
Iain Dowie returns to the Ricoh Arena on September for the first time since he was sacked as the Sky Blues' boss by Ray Ranson in the winter
His current team, QPR, have only lost once this season so far and are strongly tipped as title contenders.
And Sky Sports reports that former Newcastle defender Ramage believes the team should target three wins from their next three games - which includes the Coventry City match.
He said: "I think it's been an encouraging start.
"We obviously had a little blip at Sheffield United but apart from that I think we've done alright.
"I think if you'd given us that at the start of the season we would have taken it, but we've got to kick on from that. We can't let the good start go to waste.
"The next three games we should be targeting nine points.
"That's no disrespect to the teams that we're playing but that's the standards we've set ourselves with the start we've had." Telegraph

Vital Football/Southampton The Rough Guide To Loftus Road
"....The lower tier suffers from being, well too low, whilst the upper tier is poorly designed, meaning that some seats have their views obscured by railings at the exits gangways and virtually every seat past the fourth row, cant actually see the goalline unless you stand up, behind the seats is just one narrow corridor servicing the whole stand, a death trap should the stadium need to be evacuated quickly, the biggest surprise though is that it was only built in 1980, so it should be a lot better.
Although the stadium is compact and really should have a lot more atmosphere, truth is that on our previous visits it has had none, a small group of QPR fanc congregate in the far corner but they sing little and not very loudly....
Probably most Saints fans will arrive by train, the nearest tube station is White City and its then about a five minute walk to the ground. However the bulk of the visiting support will get off at Shepherds Bush and avail themselves of the many pubs surrounding the green, allow yourself 10-15 minutes to get to the ground if you do this and be aware that the police are very heavy handed.
The main Saints pub last season was O'Neils although after the game Police cleared the area quickly and the warning is that the hooligan element of QPR's support tend to turn up an hour or so after the game and look to pick off stragglers in the away support..." Vital Football Southampton
