SPOT OF WOE

Tommy Doherty saw red as a QPR XI succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at Lewes on Tuesday evening.
The combative midfielder was given his marching orders in the first half, for two bookable offences, on a night to forget for the R's.
In truth, his dismissal only served to compound Rangers' woes, who handed transfer listed trio Ian Evatt, Matt Hislop and Stefan Moore yet another chance to shine.
R's Reserve Team manager Justin Skinner was understandably disappointed with the result, commenting: "Of course it was a setback. It looked like being a decent enough game after the first 20 minutes, but the referee spoilt it with his decision to give a soft penalty.
"Sean Thomas clearly got two hands to the ball, but the referee pointed straight to the spot. The lads over-reacted a little and Tommy bore the brunt of it with a second booking.''
Aside from the result though, Skinner believes the run-out will stand the players in good stead for the start of the season.
"As with all matches at this time of year, it's all about preparation,'' he told qpr.co.uk.
"Some of the lads have got some much needed game time under their belts and that can only add to the competition for places.''
QPR XI: Thomas, Goode, Munday, Evatt, Hislop, Tchakounte, Doherty, Bailey, Baidoo, Donnelly, Moore.
Subs (all used): R Jones, trialist, Cousins, Howell, Rose.
