Marcus Bignot on the Celtic Game, on current coaches and on Holloway - " [Might mean absolutely nothing, but the feature doesn't describe Bignot as the club captain.]

LET'S MAKE OUR MARC"
Marcus Bignot is determined to hit the ground running this season - starting with the visit of Celtic to Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon.
The R's full-back is licking his lips at the prospect of facing Gordon Strachan's men, for what he describes as a 'dream pre-season fixture.'
"It's a boyhood dream to be playing against Celtic,'' he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"The shire size of the Club speaks for itself, but their history and tradition is something else. It will be an honour to play against them.
"I was lucky enough to play them in 2001, but the circumstances surrounding that fixture differ somewhat from the situation we're in today.''
Indeed, the last time the two sides met, the R's had gone into administration at the end of the previous season and most of the Club's highly paid players left Loftus Road.
Boss Ian Holloway only had half-a-dozen players available on the first day of pre-season training and so he had his work cut out to put a side together for the opening friendly against the Bhoys.
"It was memorable, but not exactly for all the right reasons!'' said Bignot.
"In fairness to Ollie and the rest of the lads, we stuck together and it was credit to everyone involved for getting through it.
"Like the gaffer today always says though, 'tough times don't last, tough people do,' and that sums it up to be honest.''
Rangers succumbed to a narrow 2-0 defeat on that occasion, with master poacher Henrik Larsson and Lubo Moravcik on target for the Bhoys.
But performances, rather than results, are of paramount importance at this time of the season, and Bignot and his team-mates are determined to put on a show on Sunday.
"The lads are buzzing and the team-spirit is excellent at the moment,'' said Binot.
"The additions that have been made over the summer speak volumes of the gaffer and the three news lads have each settled in really well.
"We've had a great pre-season so far. The gaffer and his staff have organised it all to a tee and the fitness lads, Joe Dunbar and Mark Barry, have been excellent with us.
"We're not really meant to like them at this stage of the season, but they're both so infectious and we want to achieve for them, as much as anyone else.
"They're two top blokes and we want to work hard for them and the rest of the gaffer's staff.''
Bignot continued: "It's been very scientific, but that's a sign of the times.
"The results are clear for all to see already and after the numerous problems we had in the last pre-season campaign, I'm convinced we'll be in far better shape this time around.
"We want to pick up where we left off at the end of last season and that starts on Sunday.'' Official Site
